We are looking for a sharp, agile Legal Advisor to join our legal team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our legal strategy, ensuring that our digital learning platforms, content delivery, and corporate operations run smoothly and are compliant with evolving laws. You will balance traditional corporate law with cutting-edge digital challenges, including intellectual property protection for online content, user data privacy, and complex vendor contracts.
Key Responsibilities
1. Intellectual Property (IP) & Content Protection

- Copyright & Trademark Enforcement: Monitor, protect, and enforce the company s IP rights over digital study materials, video lectures, test series, and software code.
- Takedowns & Infringement: Swiftly handle online piracy, unauthorized content distribution, and issue DMCA/copyright takedown notices across third-party platforms.
- Content Licensing: Draft and negotiate licensing agreements for third-party educational content, stock media, and technology integrations.

2. Regulatory Compliance & Data Privacy
- Data Protection: Ensure strict compliance with data privacy regulations (such as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act / DPDPA, GDPR, or relevant regional student privacy laws) regarding student and parent data collection.
- Consumer Protection: Review marketing materials, refund policies, and online course terms to ensure alignment with e-commerce and consumer protection guidelines.
- Terms of Service: Regularly update the platforms Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and End-User License Agreements (EULA) as product features evolve.

Contract Management & Negotiations
- Vendor & SaaS Agreements: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with technology vendors, cloud service providers, payment gateways, and marketing agencies.
- Instructor & Content Creator Contracts: Structure explicit employment and freelance agreements for educators, faculty, and content creators, explicitly defining content ownership and non-compete clauses.

4. Dispute Resolution & Risk Mitigation
- Grievance Redressal: Manage escalations related to student/parent grievances, billing disputes, and consumer forum complaints.
- Litigation Management: Coordinate with external legal counsels for any active litigation, arbitration, or regulatory notices.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

Education: LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) from a recognised university. LL.M. or specialised certification in Cyber Law / Intellectual Property.
Experience: 3 5 years of corporate legal experience. Direct experience working inside an EdTech, E-commerce, or SaaS company.
Core Expertise: Strong grasp of Contract Law, IP Law, and IT/Data Privacy regulations. Experience dealing with digital piracy and online consumer disputes.
Soft Skills: Excellent drafting skills, commercial awareness, and a collaborative mindset. | Ability to explain complex legal risks in simple terms to product and tech teams.
