Education: Graduate/Postgraduate in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electrical Machines or related field.
Role Overview:
Seeking a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in Embedded systems and C programming, Model Based Software Development (Matlab, Simulink, State flow and Embedded Coder), Battery Management System (BMS) modelling, including battery behaviour simulation, state estimation algorithms development and validation across the development cycle. The ideal candidate will bridge battery physics, embedded control, and system integration for advanced energy storage applications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. BMS Modelling & Control Development.
Design, Implement and test SoC, SoH, SoP, SOE algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink/State flow.
Develop electrochemical and equivalent circuit models (e.g., Thevenin, ECM, DFN) for various battery chemistries (e.g., Li-ion, LFP).
Perform model parameterization, calibration, and validation using test data.
Design and optimize control algorithms for battery charging/discharging, balancing, and thermal management.
Analysis of system or customer provided requirements, preparing software requirements, high level and low design documents, use of ALM tools like code beamer, DOORS etc.
2. Code Generation & Embedded Software Integration
Generate production-ready embedded code using Embedded Coder, Target Link, or equivalent.
Integrate the Model s auto generated code together with Base software, communication, diagnostics and other software modules.
Flashing and testing of the integrated software on Target Hardware and debugging the identified issues.
Collaborate with hardware, system, and software teams for seamless deployment.
3. Testing, Validation & Analytics
Writing test cases and preparing test vectors as per templates, preparing test harness/test setup and preparing test reports.
Execute Model-in-the-Loop (MIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing or on test bench.
Develop automated test cases and simulation environments.
Analyse the test data or logs, identify the root cause and do necessary changes in model/code.
4. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure development aligns with ISO 26262 (functional safety), ASPICE, and automotive/industrial standards.
Contribute to technical documentation, architecture, and design reviews.
5. Team Collaboration & Leadership
Guide and mentor junior engineers.
Participate in technical strategy and R&D; discussions for BMS platform development.
