Role: Senior Software Engineer - C/PROC AIX-to-Linux Migration

Knowledge and Experience:

- Robust, demonstrable experience in C programming in a commercial Unix or Linux environment - essential.
- Strong PROC development experience including Oracle precompiler usage, embedded SQL, cursor management, and ProC/C++ compilation - essential.
- Experience with AIX-to-Linux migration or cross-platform C/PROC portability work (header discipline, type
- portability, compiler differences, library linking) - highly desirable.
- Strong Python development skills used for build tooling, scripting, automation, and data comparison - essential.
- Django or web-framework experience is not required; tooling and scripting Python is the priority.
- Hands-on experience designing and building GitHub Actions pipelines or equivalent CI/CD tooling (Azure DevOps, Jenkins) - essential.
- Practical experience building AI agents, GitHub Copilot skills, or similar AI-accelerator artefacts to improve engineering productivity - essential.
- Experience with AI-first development approaches including GitHub Copilot or equivalent across coding, testing,



documentation and impact analysis - essential.
- Oracle database experience in the context of PROC, embedded SQL testing, NLS session control, and query output comparison - essential.
- Experience with Git branching strategies, protected branches, pull request workflows, merge commit models, and repository governance - essential.
- Familiarity with shell scripting (bash/ksh), AWK, Makefile authoring, and Unix/Linux build tooling.
- Experience with artefact stores such as Nexus or GitHub Packages.
- Self-sufficient working style, able to take problems end to end with minimal hand-holding while knowing when to seek input to reduce risk and keep delivery moving.
- Ability to work at pace in a complex legacy environment without compromising quality or traceability.
