Position:- Procurement Manager Job Location:- East Africa Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership

- Lead and oversee the end-to-end procurement function, including imports, local sourcing, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Provide solid leadership and direction to Procurement Managers and the broader procurement team, ensuring high performance and accountability.
- Develop and execute short-, medium-, and long-term procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals related to cost, production, and business growth.
- Establish and strengthen procurement governance, including policies, processes, and internal controls.

Sourcing & Supplier Management

- Build, qualify, and manage a reliable and diversified supplier base for raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and services in collaboration with Technical, Production, and QA teams.
- Drive supplier development initiatives, performance evaluation, and long-term strategic partnerships.
- Lead high-value negotiations, contract management, renewals, and benchmarking activities.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of critical materials, minimizing stock-outs and reducing dependency on emergency or premium procurement.

Cost, Risk & Performance Management

- Manage procurement spend effectively and drive continuous cost optimization without compromising quality, safety, or operational reliability.




- Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, logistics, foreign exchange fluctuations, lead times, and supplier dependency.
- Monitor and report procurement KPIs such as cost savings, supplier performance, inventory levels, and service efficiency.
- Collaborate with Finance/Controlling teams on budgeting, forecasting, and working capital management.

Operational Execution

- Ensure timely processing of purchase orders, contract finalization, and adherence to delivery schedules.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to align technical specifications, commercial terms, and compliance requirements.
- Support procurement for CAPEX projects and other strategic initiatives as required.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, ERP systems, and statutory/regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

- 12 15 years of progressive experience in procurement within large manufacturing or continuous process industries.
- Industry experience in heavy manufacturing or similar sectors (cement, steel, chemicals, process industries) is highly preferred.
