Pre-Sales Consultant SAP Testing

Role Purpose:

We are looking for a high-impact Presales Lead with strong SAP techno-functional expertise to drive solutioning, customer engagement, and deal closure for our client AI-powered SAP testing platform.

This role sits at the intersection of SAP business processes, automation strategy, and AI-led testing innovation, requiring both deep functional understanding and robust storytelling/pre-sales capability.

Core Responsibilities

A. Discovery & SAP Landscape Assessment

- Lead technical discovery discussions with customers to understand:
- Current SAP landscape and ongoing initiatives
- Understand SAP business processes (SD, MM, FI, PP, EWM, HR, etc.)
- Fiori/UI5 adoption

- Identify gaps in current SAP testing practices, including:

- Manual & automation processes
- Integration validation challenges
- Regression scope and coverage issues
- Current challenges

B. Test Strategy & Solution Architecture

- Architect end-to-end test strategies for:
- S/4HANA migration—greenfield, brownfield, selective transition
- Fiori modernization
- Ongoing initiatives as well as current steady state

- Build structured test blueprints including:

- Business process coverage mapping
- Regression suite design
- Risk-based and impact-based testing
- Cross-module dependency considerations

C. Demo Engineering & Technical Presentations

- Deliver high-quality demos tailored to customer use cases:
- SAP UI5/Fiori workflow testing
- SAP OData / RFC / API testing
- Data migration checks and reconciliation logic

- Explain how modern SAP testing approaches improve reliability, reduce cycle time, and support quarterly S/4HANA upgrade readiness.

D. Proposal

- Own the creation of:
- Technical proposals
- RFP/RFI responses
- Security/compliance questionnaires
- High-level architecture diagrams
- Test effort/complexity estimation





- Document testing strategies for S/4HANA and RISE programs, tailored to industry context (manufacturing, BFSI, retail, etc.).

E. Customer Engagement & Deal Progression

- Partner with Sales Directors to shape compelling technical narratives.
- Lead validation workshops with SAP functional teams, QA leads, Basis teams, and enterprise architects.
- Address technical objections and provide clarity on testing methodology, automation strategy, migration readiness, and integration reliability.
- Define success criteria
- Run PoCs aligned to real customer business processes and technical environments.

Required Skills & Experience

- 8–10 years in SAP functional consulting (or ABAP Development Lead) with good exposure to SAP projects in a consulting/project management/technical role.
- Test automation and SAP QA is preferrable but not mandatory
- Strong hands-on understanding of:
- SAP S/4HANA migration approaches
- RISE with SAP architecture

- Experience with SAP modules (SD/MM/FI/PP/EWM etc.).
- Preferred:- Deep familiarity with testing concepts:

- SAP Modules
- TestCase Design
- Test Data Services
- Execution Lists
- Risk-based testing practices

- Strong knowledge of:

- SAP UI5/Fiori testing
- OData services, BAPIs, RFCs
- IDoc structures and interface flows
- CPI, PI/PO integrations

- Ability to design test strategies for:

- Functional testing
- Integration testing
- Regression cycles
- Data migration validation

Preferred Attributes

- Participation in at least one S/4HANA or RISE transformation project in a Primary role of Functional Technical Consultant.
- Lead contributor to a SAP implementation in FI, SD or MM domain
- Experience in pre-sales, solution engineering, or customer-facing technical roles.
- Background modernizing SAP testing—migrating from manual or recorder-driven approaches to structured frameworks.
- Strong communication, demo presentation, and solution storytelling skills.
