About the Role

Orchids The International School is seeking a talented and passionate Music Teacher to inspire students through the joy of music. The ideal candidate will foster creativity, confidence, and artistic expression while developing students' vocal and instrumental skills. The teacher will create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that nurtures a lifelong appreciation for music.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging music lessons aligned with the school's curriculum.
- Teach vocal and instrumental music, music theory, rhythm, melody, and performance techniques to students across various grade levels.
- Encourage students to explore different genres, styles, and cultures of music.
- Organize and conduct choir, band, ensemble, or group performances, as applicable.
- Prepare students for school concerts, annual functions, competitions, assemblies, and other cultural events.
- Assess student progress through performances, practical assessments, and classroom participation.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment that promotes creativity and collaboration.
- Maintain musical instruments, equipment, and classroom resources in good condition.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and school leadership to integrate music into interdisciplinary learning and school events.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings,



faculty training sessions, and other school activities.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Music, Performing Arts, or a related field.
- Degree, diploma, or certification in Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, or Music Education is preferred.
- B.Ed. is preferred for school teaching roles.
- Prior teaching experience in a CBSE, ICSE, IB, or other recognized school board is preferred.
- Proficiency in vocal music and/or one or more musical instruments.
- Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.

Desired Skills

- Passion for music education and student development.
- Ability to teach students of different age groups and skill levels.
- Knowledge of music theory, notation, rhythm, and performance techniques.
- Experience conducting choirs, ensembles, or school performances.
- Creativity in designing engaging and interactive music lessons.
- Familiarity with digital music tools and educational technology is an added advantage.
- Strong organizational, teamwork, and event management skills.
