Job Title- Test Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Software Test Engineer with strong expertise in the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), system testing, performance testing, and automation testing.

Key Skills & Qualifications

- Robust understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and QA methodologies
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and commands
- Experience in Performance Testing (load, stress, scalability testing)
- Hands-on experience in Automation Testing (using tools/frameworks such as Selenium, PyTest, etc.)
- Experience in System Testing and Non-Functional Testing (NFR)
- Understanding of defect tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla, etc.)
- Basic scripting/programming knowledge (Python, Shell, or similar) is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and documentation skills

Roles & Responsibilities

.1. **Test Planning:**
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, including scope, approach, resources, and scheduling.
- Identify testing tools and methodologies suitable for the project.

2. **Test Case Design:**
- Create detailed, reusable, and efficient test cases based on requirements and specifications.
- Ensure test cases cover functional, non-functional, regression, and performance testing scenarios.
- Maintain a traceability matrix linking test cases to requirements.

3. **Test Execution:**
- Execute test cases and document results, identifying defects and issues.
- Conduct different types of testing including manual, automated, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
- Perform exploratory testing to uncover potential issues not covered by existing test cases.

4. **Defect Management:**
- Record and track defects in a defect management tool, including steps to reproduce, severity, and screenshots.




- Collaborate with development teams to prioritize and resolve identified issues.
- Verify fixes and perform regression testing on resolved defects.

5. **Test Automation:**
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts to increase testing efficiency and coverage.
- Evaluate and implement testing frameworks and tools for automation.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline.

6. **Performance Testing:**
- Plan and execute performance testing to assess application scalability and reliability under load.
- Analyze test results and provide recommendations for performance improvements.

7. **Documentation and Reporting:**
- Prepare and maintain clear and detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Provide regular status updates to project stakeholders regarding testing progress, risks, and issues.
- Participate in the creation of release notes highlighting the testing outcomes.

8. **Collaboration and Communication:**
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and UX/UI designers to ensure understanding of testing objectives.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives within Agile frameworks.
- Foster a quality-first mindset within the development team.

9. **Continuous Improvement:**
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in software testing and quality assurance.
- Propose and implement process improvements to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and mentor junior team members.

10. **Risk Assessment:**
- Identify potential risks in the software development lifecycle and proactively address them through testing strategies.
- Assist in assessing the quality and readiness of the application for production deployment.
