About CoERS
The Centre of Excellence for Road Safety (CoERS), RBG Labs, IIT Madras, is a national think tank supported by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India. CoERS works closely with Central and State Governments, district administrations, enforcement agencies, transport departments, engineers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to develop and implement evidence-based road safety interventions across India.
The Project Associate will support the implementation of road safety programmes and technology-enabled initiatives across multiple states and districts. The role involves coordinating with government departments and external stakeholders, facilitating programme implementation, supporting training and capacity-building activities, managing stakeholder communication, and ensuring effective adoption of digital platforms developed by CoERS.
The position requires solid stakeholder management, project coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work independently in a dynamic implementation environment.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Implementation
- Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of road safety programmes across States and Districts.
- Coordinate with multiple government departments and implementing agencies to ensure timely execution of project activities.
- Track implementation progress, monitor milestones, and follow up on pending action items.
- Identify implementation challenges and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to facilitate timely resolution.
- Maintain project documentation, implementation trackers, and programme records.
Government & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with government officials and institutional stakeholders.
- Coordinate with District Collectors, Superintendents of Police, Transport Commissioners, Engineers, Health Officials, Medical Institutions, and other implementing agencies.
- Organise and facilitate meetings, review discussions, workshops, and consultations.
- Represent CoERS during stakeholder meetings, field visits, and programme reviews as required.
Training & Capacity Building
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver orientation programmes, workshops, refresher trainings, and awareness sessions for government officials and programme stakeholders.
- Develop presentations, training manuals, user guides, standard operating procedures, FAQs, and other learning resources.
- Support stakeholders in adopting programme processes, digital applications, and operational workflows.
- Assess training requirements and recommend improvements to enhance user adoption and programme effectiveness.
Digital Platform Support & User Enablement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for users of digital applications developed by CoERS.
- Provide first-level functional support through phone, email, WhatsApp, or other support channels.
- Troubleshoot issues related to user access, application workflows, dashboards, and data entry.
- Coordinate with the technical team for issue resolution, bug reporting, enhancement requests, and system improvements.
- Support user onboarding, account creation, access management, and periodic user engagement.
- Maintain records of user queries, support requests, issue resolution timelines, and recurring challenges.
Field Assessments & Technical Coordination
- Participate in field visits, surveys, implementation assessments, and stakeholder consultations.
- Support road safety assessments, infrastructure reviews, blackspot investigations, and other implementation activities.
- Collaborate with technical experts to identify implementation gaps and recommend practical solutions based on standards and best practices.
- Collect field observations and stakeholder feedback to strengthen programme implementation and digital solutions.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare meeting minutes, progress reports, presentations, official correspondence, and implementation updates.
- Develop periodic reports on programme progress, training activities, user support metrics, and implementation outcomes.
- Document best practices, lessons learned, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Experience
- 25 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in programme implementation, stakeholder engagement, government projects, consulting, development sector organisations, healthcare programmes, infrastructure projects, or technology implementation will be preferred.
- Experience in conducting trainings, supporting digital platforms, or coordinating multi-stakeholder projects will be an added advantage.
