Signal Integrity Engineer

This role has been designed as Onsite with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.

Job Family Definition:

Designs, analyzes, develops, modifies and evaluates electrical/electronic parts, components, sub-systems, algorithms, or integrated circuitry for electrical/electronic equipment and other hardware systems. Conducts feasibility studies, design margin and validation analyses and empirical testing on new and modified designs. Assists in architecture development and assessment. Evaluates reliability of materials, properties, designs, and techniques used in production. May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.

Management Level Definition:

Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

- Develop SI rules, build on design guides & checklists, review design implement a tion, cre a te test pl a ns, document ch a r a cteriz a tion & me a surement reports

- Improve & optimize design m a rgins through interconnect, timing & xt a lk a n a lysis, 3D EM & ch a nnel simul a tions for high speed designs

- Underst a nd SI tr a de offs, imp a ct of v a rious a spects of system design, provide timely technic a l a ssessments & progress upd a tes to SI mgmt

- Design & ch a r a cterize test structures & ch a nnel models to correl a te simul a tions & me a surements for serdes & interconnects

- Coll a bor a te with cross-function a l te a ms such a s HW designers, l a yout engrs, SW engrs, MFG engrs, A SIc engrs, ODMs & vendors.

- Should be flexible to a ccommod a te ch a nging design requirements,

What You Need To Bring:

- B a chelors / M a sters degree in Electronics / Electric a l engineering or equiv a lent

- Experience with l a b equipments such a s high b a ndwidth re a l time & s a mpling Oscilloscopes, ph a se noise a n a lyzers, TDR, VN A , spectrum a n a lyzers.

- Proficient with simul a tion a nd a n a lysis tools like A DS, HFSS, HSPICE, Sisoft QSI, QCD, C a dence A llegro, Sigrity, PowerSI, M A TL A B, etc

- Experience with common SI simul a tion models such a s IBIS, IBIS- A MI, S-p a r a meter, COM a n a lysis, etc

- Knowledge of interf a ce st a nd a rds such a s DDR 3/4, PCIe gen 2/3, 10GKR, S A T A , XFI, X A UI, C A UI, CD A UI etc

- Experience with 56G P A M4, 25G & 10G NRZ serdes technologies - simul a tion, bringup, debug, me a surements, optimiz a tion a plus.
