Role & responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end land acquisition for mining projects, ensuring timely availability of land for project execution and expansion.
- Develop and implement land acquisition strategies in line with business objectives and project timelines.
- Manage acquisition of private, government, and forest land, including due diligence, title verification, documentation, compensation, and land handover.
- Liaise with District Administration, Revenue, Forest, Mining, and Environment Departments, Gram Panchayats, and other statutory authorities to obtain approvals and resolve land-related issues.
- Lead negotiations with landowners, local communities, and key stakeholders while ensuring effective Rehabilitation & Resettlement (R&R;) implementation.
- Ensure compliance with the RFCTLARR Act, 2013, MMDR Act, 1957, Chhattisgarh Land Revenue Code, 1959, Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980, Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, Forest Rights Act, 2006 (FRA), PESA Act, 1996, and other applicable central and state regulations.
- Coordinate with Legal, Projects, Survey,



and ESG teams to mitigate land-related risks, resolve title disputes, and ensure statutory compliance.
- Monitor acquisition progress, budgets, risks, and regulatory milestones, ensuring adherence to project schedules.
- Proven experience in managing complex land acquisition, stakeholder engagement, statutory approvals, and government liaison.
- Robust understanding of land laws, mining regulations, revenue administration, forest clearances, and R&R; processes.
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills, with willingness to travel extensively across project locations.

Preferred candidate profile

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Law, Planning, Geography, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualification preferred.
- 12-15 years of experience in land acquisition for mining projects in India, preferably in Chhattisgarh or other mineral-rich states.
