Pilot Line Technician Electrical is responsible for supporting new product introduction and pilot line operations. This role involves working closely with supply chain, service, operations, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition from development to production. The technician will be trained in the art and science of electrical assembly, pilot builds, repair, and servicing complex systems.
This position reports to Manager, Pilot Lab Operations and is part of the Global Instrument Operations and Global Supply Chain Organization. This position is located in Bangalore, India and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the prospect to:
- Perform PCB assembly, soldering, and rework of dense rigid, flex, and hybrid PCBAs, while supporting board bring-up, testing, characterization, root cause analysis, and test report preparation.
- Partner with engineering teams to assemble, test, and validate electro-mechanical assemblies and system-level designs, supporting electrical and mechanical product development activities.
- Manage laboratory equipment, tools, and component inventory, including calibration, procurement, and consignment activities, ensuring efficient engineering operations and development support.
The essential requirements of the job include
- Associate of Science degree or equivalent experience with at least 5 years supporting electrical engineering and product development,
including electro-mechanical prototyping, assembly, testing, rework, and automation support.
- Hands-on expertise in PCB assembly, precision soldering, electrical bring-up, debugging, and verification testing, with proficiency in oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, and QMS-compliant documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and commitment to quality, with experience in instrument repair, ANSI/ESD compliance, laboratory equipment and calibration management, EHS adherence, and independent work in engineering and manufacturing environments.
Travel Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Available for periodic travel (10-20%) to support manufacturing operations, process implementation, and cross-functional collaboration across multiple sites.
- Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 25 lbs, any other physical requirements
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, working independently or collaboratively to meet project timelines.
- Experience in product development and manufacturing environments operating under cGMP, ISO, and FDA regulations.
- Knowledge of medical device documentation and configuration management, including DHR, DMR, and product configuration control.
