What role you will play in our team

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Geoscientist with strong expertise in shallow, high-resolution seismic acquisition methods, tools, and applications to support site investigation survey design, data acquisition, subsurface characterization, and geohazard assessment programs.

What you will do

The Operations Geology Site Investigation Specialist is responsible for the following:

- Integrate geophysical, engineering geophysical, geotechnical, geological, hydrographic, environmental, and offset-well data to characterize shallow subsurface conditions and support safe site development and well drilling.
- Apply knowledge of acquisition methods, tools, and applications to design and deliver fit-for-purpose site-investigation programs.
- Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for survey acquisition, processing, interpretation, and contractor deliverables addressing project-specific geohazard challenges.
- Interpret 2D, 3D, and other seismic volumes to assess shallow subsurface hazards and uncertainties.
- Translate findings into recommendations for well planning, casing design, facility design, and risk mitigation.
- Develop, apply, maintain, and champion SHSI Best Practices, standards, and quality workflows.
- Pilot recent technologies and adapt acquisition and interpretation workflows to evolving business needs.
- Support vendor selection, contracting, supervision, and performance evaluation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical risks, uncertainties, and recommendations to enhance internal and external technical capabilities.
- Ensure work complies with ExxonMobil s OIMS, regulatory,



safety, and environmental requirements.
- Adopt safe work practices and use any equipment provided for health and safety purposes in accordance with ExxonMobils safety policies.
- Conduct operations and activities in accordance with ExxonMobils environmental policies, Codes of Environmental Practice, and environmental guidelines.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Operations Geology Supervisor or Skill Area Coordinator.

About You

Skills Qualifications

- Bachelor s degree or higher in Geophysics, Geoscience, Geology, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in shallow geohazards assessment, site investigation, marine geophysics, seismic acquisition, or well planning activities.
- Strong expertise in high-resolution shallow seismic acquisition methods, technologies, and applications, with demonstrated experience supporting site-investigation survey design, execution, and data-acquisition programs.
- Proven ability to integrate and interpret marine geophysical, geological, geotechnical, drilling, and well data to identify subsurface risks and support operational decision-making.
- Proficiency in interpretation of 2D, 3D, and ultra-high-resolution seismic datasets, shallow hazard evaluation,



and characterization of near-seafloor conditions.
- Working knowledge of seismic stratigraphy, sequence stratigraphy, seismic attributes, DHI/AVO concepts, time-to-depth conversion, and practical geophysical principles relevant to shallow subsurface investigations.
- Experience in planning, specifying, and delivering high-resolution geophysical and ancillary site-investigation surveys, including survey scope development and technical execution oversight.
- Experience managing survey contractors, including HSE oversight, quality control, acquisition monitoring, data integrity assurance, and technical acceptance of survey deliverables.
- Good understanding of drilling technology, well planning processes, formation evaluation requirements, integrated pore-pressure prediction, and their interface with shallow hazard assessments.
- Knowledge of relevant drilling regulations, OIMS requirements, and applicable safety, environmental, and operational risk-management practices.
- Strong collaboration, planning, communication, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to communicate technical interpretations, uncertainties, risk assessments, and recommendations through clear, concise, and timely reports, presentations, and advisory engagements.
