Purpose/Objective

Manager – Cell Production is responsible for leading end-to-end production operations of the solar cell manufacturing facility, ensuring achievement of production, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and people management objectives.
The role will drive manufacturing excellence through process optimization, yield enhancement, operational discipline, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting scale-up of advanced cell technologies such as TOPCon and next-generation cell manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Production Leadership & Operations Management - Lead overall cell manufacturing operations to achieve daily, monthly, and annual production targets.
- Ensure optimal utilization of production lines, manpower, equipment, and resources.
- Drive production planning execution in alignment with business requirements and capacity plans.
- Monitor and improve key production metrics including throughput, cycle time, productivity, and efficiencies.
- Ensure smooth shift operations with minimum downtime and production losses.
Yield, Productivity & Process Excellence - Drive continuous improvement in cell conversion efficiency, yield, and line performance.
- Monitor critical manufacturing processes including: - Texturing - Diffusion - PECVD - Laser Processing - Printing - Firing - Cell Testing & Sorting - Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process excursions and quality issues.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, and Operational Excellence initiatives.
- Identify and execute productivity enhancement and cost optimization projects.
Quality & Customer Focus - Ensure adherence to product quality standards, process specifications, and SOPs.
- Drive reduction in defects, scrap, and rework through systematic problem-solving methodologies.




- Collaborate with Quality and Process teams to improve process capability and manufacturing consistency.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems and internal audit requirements.
Manufacturing Excellence & Continuous Improvement - Drive OEE improvement initiatives across production lines.
- Lead Kaizen, Digital Manufacturing, Industry 4.
0, and automation projects.
- Benchmark manufacturing performance against industry best practices.
- Support technology transfer, process upgrades, capacity expansion, and commissioning activities.
Team Leadership & Capability Building - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Assistant Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, and Operators.
- Establish performance goals and monitor team effectiveness.
- Drive workforce productivity, capability enhancement, and succession planning.
- Foster a high-performance culture through continuous coaching and employee engagement.
Safety, Compliance & Sustainability - Ensure strict adherence to EHS policies, statutory regulations, and safety standards.
- Drive Zero Harm culture across manufacturing operations.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, environmental, and sustainability requirements.
- Lead safety audits, risk assessments, and closure of corrective actions.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification - B.
E.
/B.
Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
- MBA/PGDM in Operations Management preferred.
Experience - 12–18 years of manufacturing experience.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in Solar Cell Manufacturing.
- Hands-on exposure to large-scale automated manufacturing facilities.
- Proven experience in managing production operations for technologies such as: - TOPCon - PERC - HJT (preferred) - Experience in capacity ramp-up, manufacturing excellence, and operational transformation initiatives.
