We are a growing pharma R&D; lab making drug intermediates and taking on custom synthesis work for pharma clients. We need a hands-on synthetic organic chemist who can plan and run reactions, work up
and purify products, scale from gram to kg, and support this with basic analytical checks. This is a bench role, not a supervisory or QA-head position.
Must have
- 4 to 6 years hands-on in a pharma, API, fine-chemical or CRO synthesis lab (process R&D;, API R&D;,or custom synthesis).
- Practical synthetic organic chemistry: setting up reactions, workup, extraction, crystallisation, distillation, column purification.
- Able to read a route and troubleshoot a reaction that is not behaving (yield, impurities, incomplete conversion).
- Basic analytical ability to check own work: TLC, HPLC or GC.
Can read and act on a chromatogram.
- Good documentation discipline (lab notebook, batch records, traceability).
Valuable to have
- Experience taking a molecule from gram scale up to kg or pilot scale.
- Exposure to drug intermediates (sartans, statins, SGLT2 / diabetes, or similar).
- Background at a company that files DMFs or ANDAs (strong documentation habits).
Not looking for
- Very senior, GM or manager profiles. This is a mid-level hands-on role at a mid-level salary.
- Pure QC or analyst profiles who have never run their own synthesis.
- Pure production or plant operators with no R&D; bench work.
