Role & responsibilities

- Design and development of Special purpose Assembly Automation systems and Testing systems.
- Validating & arriving at the concepts for designing the above systems.
- Examine the technical specification/RFQ to determine the procedures, objectives, test specifications, etc.
- Conversion of the design concepts into 3D cad model.
- Perform engineering calculations with respect to Strength of materials, Speed, pressure & force and for selection of various standard elements for machines/automation systems.
- Produce detail drawings with relevant GD&T; and bills of materials for equipment, subassemblies or product.
- Knowledge on Pneumatics- selection, calculation of various parts in pneumatics.
- Conversion of 3d CAD model into 2d drawings and release it for manufacturing.
- Review drawings for accuracy, material selection, proper machining processes, surface finish, hardness, etc.
- Preparing and organizing design documentation, obtain quotation from suppliers for std elements, preparing Bill of Materials, test charts and Machine Manuals etc.
- Liaise with vendor / purchase team during manufacturing & procurement stage.
- Liaise with execution team during assembly, testing and machine qualification stage.




- Liaise with control engineering team to have a seamless integration of electrical design in con-current with mechanical design.
- Adhere to all ISO procedures for the pertaining to the Job.
- Update of design and its documentation on machine final acceptance

Preferred candidate profile

- Engineering / Post Graduate in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10-15 years experience in automation design.
- Should able to perform engineering calculations with respect to strength of materials, pressure, speeds, power, temperature, force, and load etc. as related to machine and tool design.
- Knowledge of engineering drawing and GD&T.;
- Knowledge on materials, manufacturing process and heat treatment etc.
- Knowledge on machine shop techniques.
- Good knowledge on 3D CAD modeling software.
- Positive knowledge of Pneumatics and Hydraulics.
- Must be capable of designing the systems from concept sketches and discussions with customers/team leaders and able to examine the feasibility to finalize the design solutions.
- Must demonstrate a strong ability to conceptualize and create solutions for complex design requirements.
- A Team player with good interpersonal skills
- Good Communication skills
