Job Summary/Main Purpose
The Manager Execution & Tendering is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution of transformer manufacturing projects, ensuring timely completion, quality compliance, and customer satisfaction. Additionally, the role involves handling the tendering process, preparing bids, evaluating contract terms, and ensuring competitive pricing strategies. The incumbent will play a key role in driving operational excellence by ensuring smooth execution from order finalization to delivery, as well as securing new business opportunities through strategic tendering.
Key Responsibilities & Key Result Areas
- Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop detailed execution plans to align with project timelines and customer requirements.
- Coordination & Communication: Collaborate with production, procurement, quality, and logistics teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitoring & Progress Tracking: Oversee project progress, identify bottlenecks, and take corrective actions to meet deadlines.
- Client Interaction & Support: Act as the key point of contact for clients, ensuring their requirements and expectations are met.
- Resource Allocation: Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment for efficient execution.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety protocols, and customer specifications.
- Risk Management & Problem-Solving: Identify potential risks in execution and implement mitigation strategies.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of components and services.
- Tendering & Bid Preparation: Analyze tender documents, prepare bid proposals, review commercial terms, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Cost Estimation & Pricing Strategy: Evaluate project costs and develop competitive pricing strategies for tenders.
- Market Research & Prospect Analysis: Identify new business opportunities by tracking tenders and participating in bidding processes.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain project documentation, generate reports, and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Cost Control & Budgeting: Monitor project costs to ensure execution within the approved budget.
- Process Improvement: Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance execution and tendering efficiency.
Core Competencies
- Strong expertise in project execution, scheduling, and coordination within transformer manufacturing.
- Experience in tendering, bid preparation, and contract evaluation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle execution challenges effectively.
- Hands-on experience with SAP systems for project and resource management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tenders simultaneously while ensuring quality and deadlines.
- Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of quality standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in handling vendor coordination and subcontractor management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in project execution and tendering within transformer manufacturing or heavy engineering industries.
- Experience in handling large-scale transformer manufacturing projects and government/commercial tenders.
- Proven track record in driving execution efficiency and securing successful tenders.
