A leading client of Empower Resources requires Plant HR for a large manufacturing company
JD:
Key Responsibilities
1. Industrial Relations (IR)
- Develop and maintain healthy industrial relations within the manufacturing plant.
- Build positive relationships with trade unions, workmen representatives, and employees.
- Handle wage negotiations, Long-Term Settlements (LTS), collective bargaining, and union discussions.
- Manage disciplinary cases, domestic enquiries, charge sheets, suspensions, and grievance redressal.
- Resolve employee disputes to prevent work stoppages and maintain industrial harmony.
- Advise plant leadership on IR matters and labour law implications.
2. Labour Law & Statutory Compliance (Maharashtra)
Ensure compliance with all applicable Central and Maharashtra labour legislations, including:
- Factories Act
- Industrial Relations Code / Industrial Disputes provisions
- Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act
- Minimum Wages Act
- Payment of Wages Act
- Payment of Bonus Act
- Payment of Gratuity Act
- Employees' Provident Fund (EPF)
- Employees' State Insurance (ESIC)
- Maharashtra Labour Welfare Fund (MLWF)
- Maharashtra Profession Tax (PT)
- Apprentices Act
- Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act
- Coordinate inspections by Labour Department, Factory Inspectorate, PF, ESIC, and other government authorities.
- Maintain statutory registers, returns, licenses, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure contractor compliance and labour documentation.
3. Plant HR Operations
- Manage manpower planning and recruitment for plant operations.
- Oversee onboarding, induction, confirmation,
and employee lifecycle management.
- Administer attendance, leave management, shift scheduling, and overtime.
- Coordinate payroll inputs and contractor wage verification.
- Maintain HR records through HRMS.
4. Employee Relations & Engagement
- Conduct employee engagement and welfare initiatives.
- Address grievances through structured grievance handling mechanisms.
- Promote discipline and adherence to company policies.
- Organize communication forums and employee awareness programs.
- Support culture-building initiatives across the plant.
5. Performance & Talent Management
- Drive Performance Management System (PMS).
- Identify training needs and coordinate technical and behavioural training.
- Support succession planning and talent development.
- Facilitate leadership development initiatives.
6. Contract Labour Management
- Monitor deployment of contract manpower.
- Verify contractor compliance with statutory obligations.
- Ensure timely contractor wage payments and documentation.
- Conduct contractor audits and compliance reviews.
7. Government Liaison
- Liaise with Labour Commissioner, Factory Inspector, Pollution Control Board (where applicable), PF, ESIC, and other statutory authorities.
- Represent the organization during inspections, conciliations, and labour proceedings.
- Coordinate legal documentation related to labour matters.
8. HR Reporting
- Prepare monthly HR dashboards covering:
- Headcount
- Attrition
- Absenteeism
- Overtime
- Recruitment
- Training
- Employee engagement
- IR status
- Statutory compliance
- Present HR and IR updates to Plant Leadership.
