BFF Lead Bass Pro Shops

Role Summary

Lead the design development and governance of BackendforFrontend BFF services supporting Bass Pros digital commerce ecosystem Own API orchestration integration architecture technical solutioning code quality and delivery leadership across frontend and backend teams

Key Responsibilities

Own endtoend BFF architecture design and delivery for eCommerce applications

Design scalable secure and highperformance BFF services using NodejsNestJS

Define API contracts and integration patterns between frontend backend PIM OMS ERP CMS Search and thirdparty platforms

Lead API aggregation orchestration caching and performance optimization strategies

Provide technical leadership to BFF developers through design reviews code reviews and mentoring

Drive architecture discussions solution design estimation and work breakdown activities

Establish engineering standards security practices CICD pipelines and observability frameworks

Partner with Frontend Leads Solution Architects Product Owners and QA teams to ensure seamless solution delivery

Troubleshoot production issues and drive rootcause analysis and performance improvements

Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture scalability reliability and security standards

Required Skills





10 years of experience in backend application development with at least 3 years leading BFFAPI teams

Strong expertise in Nodejs NestJS Expressjs TypeScript

Deep understanding of REST APIs GraphQL Microservices EventDriven Architecture

Experience with API Gateway AuthenticationAuthorization OAuth2 JWT Okta and Security best practices

Solid knowledge of cloud platforms AzureAWS and containerization technologies DockerKubernetes

Handson experience with CICD pipelines Git JenkinsGitHub Actions

Expertise in performance tuning caching resiliency patterns and monitoring

Strong experience working in AgileScrum environments

Preferred Experience

RetaileCommerce domain expertise

Experience integrating platforms such as PIM OMS CMS Search Loyalty Pricing Promotion systems

Exposure to Reactbased frontend ecosystems and Headless Commerce architectures

Leadership Expectations

Technical ownership of BFF workstream

Mentoring and capability development of engineering teams

Stakeholder management and technical governance

Delivery accountability for quality timelines and platform scalability
