Role & responsibilities

Core Roles

- Fleet Commander: Oversees daily scheduling, dispatch, and tracking of bulk transport vehicles.
- Compliance Warden: Ensures absolute adherence to legal, environmental, and transport safety regulations.
- Cost Optimizer: Manages fuel consumption, maintenance budgets, and route efficiency to maximize ROI.
- Team Leader: Manages drivers, cleaners, and maintenance staff to maintain high operational morale.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Dispatch

- Plan and execute daily vehicle routing and scheduling.
- Monitor live vehicle tracking systems to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Minimise turnaround time (TAT) at loading and unloading points..

Maintenance & Asset Management

- Schedule preventive and corrective maintenance for all vehicles.
- Manage breakdown recovery processes swiftly to minimize transit delays.
- Supervise workshop activities and spare parts inventory.
- Monitor tire management and fuel efficiency metrics per vehicle.

Safety & Compliance

- Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Setting (HSE) protocols on-site and on-road.
- Ensure all statutory permits, fitness certificates, and insurance documents are valid.
- Conduct regular safety drills and driver training for handling bulk/hazardous cargo.




- Investigate on-road accidents and implement corrective actions.

Vendor & Driver Management

- Recruit, onboard, and manage heavy commercial vehicle (HCV) drivers.
- Administer driver payouts, incentives, and trip allowances.
- Manage relationships with external transport vendors and mechanics.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience & Education

- Education: Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Mechanical/Automobile Engineering.
- Experience: 10 to 15 years in fleet operations, specifically handling bulk Trucks (e.g., oil, gas, cement, chemicals, or minerals).

Technical Skills

- Proficiency in Fleet Management Software (FMS) and Transport Management Systems (TMS).
- Strong understanding of GPS tracking, telematics, and route optimization tools.
- Deep knowledge of local motor vehicle acts, RTO regulations, and labor laws.
- Expertise in budgeting, fuel management, and cost-per-kilometer (CPK) analysis.

Soft Skills

- Strong leadership qualities to manage a diverse, blue-collar workforce.
- High crisis-management capabilities for handling breakdowns or accidents.
- Sharp negotiation skills for vendor management.
- Excellent geographical knowledge of major transit routes
