Assistant Professor UX/UI Interaction Design

Eligibility Criteria

- Bachelor s and/or Master s Degree in Design / Interaction Design / UX/UI / HCI / Computer Science / Related Fields (M.Des preferred)
- As per UGC norms for the respective designation
- Relevant teaching and/or industry experience in UX/UI design preferred / PhD preferred

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver studio-based and theory courses in UX/UI and Interaction Design
- Teach core areas such as User Experience (UX), User Interface (UI), Interaction Design, Information Architecture, and Usability
- Implement experiential, project-based, and research-driven learning methodologies
- Mentor students under the mentor mentee framework
- Contribute to curriculum development, integrating industry trends and emerging technologies
- Guide students in design thinking, user research, prototyping, and usability testing
- Incorporate tools and technologies such as AI in design, AR/VR, and advanced interaction systems
- Engage in research, publications, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Participate in academic administration, juries, workshops, hackathons, and institutional initiatives
- Facilitate industry collaborations, live projects, and internships

Desired Skills Competencies

- Robust foundation in design thinking, user-centered design, and problem-solving




- Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, Framer, Webflow, or similar
- Knowledge of wireframing, prototyping, user flows, and usability testing
- Understanding of front-end basics (HTML, CSS, basic JavaScript) is a plus
- Familiarity with design systems, accessibility standards, and responsive design
- Effective communication, mentoring, and presentation skills
- Commitment to innovation, interdisciplinary learning, and academic excellence
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in UX/UI or Interaction Design
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design process and outcomes
