- We are seeking a highly technical and automation-driven QA Automation Engineer to design, build, and scale automated testing frameworks that ensure the reliability, performance, security, and compliance of our healthcare SaaS platform
This role is critical in enabling continuous delivery and maintaining high product quality in a regulated environment
- As a QA Automation Engineer, you will architect and maintain robust automated test suites across UI, API, and data layers, integrate automated validation into CI/CD pipelines, and champion quality engineering best practices
You will collaborate closely with software engineers, DevOps, product managers, and compliance teams to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant releases aligned with healthcare standards such as HIPAA
- The ideal candidate combines strong programming skills, automation framework expertise, data validation capabilities, and a deep understanding of healthcare workflows and regulatory environments
Key Responsibilities

Automation Architecture Development
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, API, and backend testing
- Build and optimize automated test suites using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks
- Develop API automation using REST/Soap-based tools and frameworks
- Implement data validation automation using SQL and backend validation scripts
- Ensure automation coverage across functional, regression, integration, and performance testing layers
- Continuously improve test reliability, execution speed, and maintainability

CI/CD DevOps Integration
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (eg, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
- Enable automated validation gates to support continuous integration and continuous deployment
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to optimize test execution in cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure)
- Implement parallelization and containerized test execution strategies
- Maintain version control for test automation code using Git

Technical Proficiency
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages (eg, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#)
- Advanced SQL expertise for validating complex healthcare datasets
- Deep understanding of REST APIs, JSON/XML payloads, authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT)
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and SaaS deployment models
- Experience validating healthcare data integrity, interoperability workflows, and compliance standards (HIPAA,
- HITRUST)

SDLC Agile Quality Engineering
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives)
- Collaborate with developers to shift-left testing practices and embed automation early in the development lifecycle
- Translate user stories and acceptance criteria into automated test scenarios
- Support regulatory validation checkpoints within the SDLC
- Contribute to traceability matrices and automated audit readiness documentation

Analytical Problem-Solving
- Decompose complex healthcare workflows (eg, patient intake, billing, claims processing) into automated validation strategies
- Apply risk-based testing to prioritize automation coverage for critical and high-impact areas
- Analyze defect trends and test metrics to drive quality improvements
- Debug automation failures and identify root causes across application layers

Collaboration Communication
- Provide clear defect reporting with logs, automation evidence, and impact analysis
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, security, and compliance teams
- Contribute to documentation of automation frameworks, standards,
and best practices
- Mentor team members on automation strategy and quality engineering principles
Required Qualifications
Education Experience
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 3 6 years of experience in QA with robust emphasis on automation engineering
- Experience in SaaS environments
- Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries
Technical Requirements
- Strong experience building and maintaining automation frameworks
- Experience with UI automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc)
- Experience with microservice automation tools and frameworks
- Experience with AI-driven tools to design and generate high-quality test cases, ensuring strong functional, regression, and edge-case coverage
- Experience with AI-assisted automation frameworks to accelerate test script creation, execution, and maintenance, improving efficiency and reducing manual effort
- Proficiency with SQL for backend and data validation
- Experience integrating tests into CI/CD environments (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
- Hands-on experience with Git and version-controlled repositories
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
Preferred Knowledge, Skills Certifications
- Experience with performance or load testing tools
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and test orchestration
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards and regulatory frameworks
- Experience with test management tools (Jira, Zephyr, TestRail)
- Understanding of secure coding and DevSecOps practices
Certifications (Optional but Valuable)
- ISTQB Certified Tester
- Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA)
