Position Title:
Windows & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Level 2)-
Male candidates only!
Organization /Function:
Work on the incidents and Service requests during work shifts and guide peers and junior IT specialists

24x7 Rotational (Includes night shifts and weekend coverage)
Relevant Experience: Min 4 years of experience working on Windows Server Infrastructure and at least 1 year of L2 level support on Windows Sever, Hardware and VMware
Educational Qualification: BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech/Graduate/Master in any stream with excellent academic record.

Job description:
- The primary responsibility is to work on the existing or new Incidents, Service requests and Tasks
- Escalation point for L1 and triage the unresolved incidents or Requests to L3
Business Relationships:
- Constantly communicates with L1, L2 and L3 associates across the various towers
Key Responsibilities
Process
- Day to day Operational issues, requests and Project tasks
- Incident response and resolution within SLA's with good analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Escalating to L3 engineers to avoid the SLA breach for high priority incidents
- Providing all the necessary details to L3 about the issue, steps taken, recommendation and any other relevant information
- Ticket Status Check and Update
- Respond to False Positive Alerts
- Incident Escalation and Progress Monitoring
- Use the available monitoring tools during the maintenance activities (scheduled or unscheduled) to suppress the alerts, collect information for troubleshooting
- Create, review, update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
- Follow ITIL Process (Change, Problem and MIM)
- Perform the Shift handovers
- Strict adherence to Change Management (CM) and GxP-compliant documentation. Understanding that 'unauthorized changes' are a high-risk compliance breach.
Windows
- Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot Windows Operating system on physical servers and in virtualized environments
- Service Pack upgrade and hot fix installations
- Uninstalling software applications, Drivers, Windows Updates from the servers if they are causing issues
- Perform troubleshooting of either Physical Memory or virtual memory, Disk, Processor, Process and Service related start-up issues, and setting up the Performance monitoring on the servers
- Modify and execute PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks (e.g., user auditing, service restarts,
or health checks).
- Monitor the health of server systems and address operating system-level issues promptly to minimize downtime
- Perform the Vulnerability remediated based on the findings from L3/Leads
Hardware
- Assist L3 engineers to Install, Configure and Maintain IBM, HP and Dell Hardware
- Check Hardware Components Status and logs using management utilities
Security
- Experience with Vulnerability Remediation (RAPID7/Qualys/Nessus) and OS hardening (CIS Benchmarks)
Active Directory
- Update Recipient attributes like Additional Email Address, Organization, Contacts and Custom Attributes
- Operate and Maintain security groups
- Troubleshooting GPO, DNS, DHCP related issues
VMWare
- Perform VM vMotion, Storage vMotion, Add/Remove Memory or any other Hardware resources on the VM
- Installing or upgrading VMtools, upgrade hardware version on the VM
- Taking, Deleting and reverting snapshots of the VM
- Adding ESX host to maintenance during any scheduled activities
- Perform other day to day operations on VMware infrastructure
- Troubleshoot VMWare infrastructure based on vCenter alerts
Linux
- Install, Configure, maintain and troubleshoot Linux Server operating systems (Redhat, Centos, Ubuntu)
- Perform troubleshooting of either Physical Memory or virtual memory, Disk, Processor, Process and Service-related start-up issues, and setting up the Performance monitoring on the servers
- Perform Software installations and troubleshooting using TAR, RPM, APT-GET, YUM etc...
- Create, configure, and resize LVMs & perform FSCK.
- Configure /etc/fstab, SWAP, System Storage Manager (SSM) etc.
- Patching Linux servers using Yum, managing RPMs, and other centralized tools.
- Setting up start-ups, creating auto mount, autofs.
- Configure, Manage & troubleshoot User /Group permission
Backups
- Manage and troubleshoot enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, or Azure Backup) across hybrid environments. Move beyond job monitoring to own Restore Validationperforming monthly "Deep Restores" to verify data integrity for mission-critical applications.
Patch Management
- Applying security patches as per the schedule using any of the various patching tools such as (WSUS, ME Patch Manager, Automox etc...)
- Controlled Reboot of all systems after patch application and perform Sanity checks on various applications as documented
Operational Excellence
- Respond to incidents and service requests within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement preventative measures to avoid future incidents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of configurations, changes,
and procedures for reference and compliance purposes.
Teamwork
- Responsible for assisting L1 team on proper understanding of alerts
- Train and mentor the peers and juniors in the team.
- Validate the quality of work performed by peers and juniors in the team
- Co-ordinate with various teams such as monitoring, backup and Network to ensure proper functioning of all servers and its services
Must-have Skills: Prior working experience
- Windows:
- Installed, Configured, maintained and have done troubleshooting of Windows Server operating systems
- Added and removed Windows server features and roles such as Terminal servers (RDS), DNS, DHCP, etc.
- Done troubleshooting using Performance Monitor or any other tools, Event Viewer, Task Manager and unexpected server reboots.
- Patch management: Has done windows server patching using tools such as WSUS, Automox, Manager Engine Patch manager, etc...
- VMWare:
- Created Virtual Machine, performed cloning, created and deleted snapshots, added and removed hardware resources on GuestOS
- Done troubleshooting on Host disconnection issues
- Active directory: configured and performed basic troubleshooting of Active directory, DNS and Group Policy, DHCP
- Cloud: Experience managing Windows instances in Azure/AWS (EC2/VMs) and understanding of Cloud-native backup/monitoring
- Vendor Management across the technologies
Good to have skills: Prior working experience
- Linux: Install any distributions if Linux OS, troubleshooting server performance using various tools like tar, rpm, yum, apt-get, Configure, Manage & troubleshoot User /Group permission
- Anti-Virus: Have done troubleshooting AV definitions updates, cleaned, deleted & quarantine infected files
- Candidate working with Managed Services/IT Services company is preferred, and a background in dealing with global teams and remote teams will be a robust plus
- Knowledge on ITIL will be a strong plus
- Certification on Windows server 2019 or 2022 is a strong plus
