Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hardware CoC (Center of Competence) Engineer with expertise in Power Electronics for Electric Vehicle (EV) applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, validating, and supporting hardware solutions for EV power electronics systems such as On-Board Chargers (OBC), Off-Board Chargers, DC-DC converters, Hybrid UPS, and LED Drivers.
The candidate should possess strong knowledge of analog and digital hardware design, power conversion topologies, EMC/EMI considerations, thermal management, and automotive development standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop hardware architectures for EV power electronics systems.
- Work on schematic design, component selection, PCB design support, and hardware validation.
- Develop and optimize circuits for:
- DC-DC converters
- On-Board Chargers (OBC)
- Off-Board Chargers
- Hybrid UPS
- LED Drivers
- Perform hardware testing, debugging, root cause analysis, and failure investigation.
- Ensure compliance with automotive and safety standards such as:
- ISO 26262
- IEC standards
- EMC/EMI requirements
- Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, thermal,
and system engineering teams.
- Support prototype builds, product validation, and production transition activities.
- Conduct design reviews, DFMEA, and reliability analysis.
- Create technical documentation including schematics, BOMs, test reports, and validation plans.
- Support customer technical discussions and issue resolution when required.
- Contribute to the Hardware CoC by driving best practices, reusable designs, and innovation initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Educational Qualification
- B.Tech in Electronics / Electrical / Power Electronics with 4+ years of relevant experience
OR
- M.Tech in Electronics / Electrical / Power Electronics with 3+ years of relevant experience
Technical Skills
- Robust understanding of:
- Power electronics fundamentals
- SMPS design
- High-voltage and high-current systems
- Analog and digital circuit design
- Experience with:
- MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC/GaN devices
- Gate driver circuits
- Magnetics design
- Isolation techniques
- Hands-on experience in hardware debugging using:
- Oscilloscopes
- Logic analyzers
- Power analyzers
- Familiarity with Altium Designer for schematic and PCB design.
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols:
- CAN
- LIN
- SPI
- UART
- Understanding of thermal design and EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.
