Purpose/Objective
The Deputy General Manager – Projects will be responsible for planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of healthcare infrastructure projects, including hospitals, medical colleges, specialty centers, diagnostic facilities, and related healthcare assets.
The role will ensure projects are completed within approved timelines, budgets, quality standards, and regulatory requirements while coordinating with consultants, contractors, architects, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities of Role
Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution - Lead end-to-end execution of greenfield and brownfield healthcare infrastructure projects.
- Develop project schedules, milestones, resource plans, and execution strategies.
- Ensure timely completion of civil, structural, MEP, interiors, and medical infrastructure works.
- Monitor project progress and drive corrective actions to mitigate delays.
Design & Engineering Coordination - Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP consultants, and healthcare planners.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical submissions.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare design standards and operational requirements.
Project Monitoring & Controls - Implement project control mechanisms for schedule, budget, quality, and risk management.
- Track project KPIs and MIS reports for leadership review.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
Stakeholder Management - Collaborate with hospital operations, biomedical engineering, procurement, finance, and regulatory teams.
- Coordinate with government authorities and statutory bodies for approvals and compliance.
- Manage consultants, contractors, and vendor relationships effectively.
Budget & Cost Management - Prepare and monitor project budgets and cash flow plans.
- Review estimates, BOQs, variation orders, and contractor bills.
- Drive value engineering and cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality.
Quality, Safety & Compliance - Ensure compliance with NABH, NBC, fire safety, environmental, and healthcare infrastructure standards.
- Monitor site safety practices and quality assurance processes.
- Lead audits, inspections, and project quality reviews.
Procurement & Contract Management - Support technical evaluation of vendors and contractors.
- Participate in tendering, negotiations, and contract finalization.
- Monitor contract performance, claims, variations, and dispute resolutions.

Qualifications and Experience
Educational Qualification - Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering.
- Master's Degree in Construction Management / Project Management preferred.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification will be an added advantage.
Experience - 15–20 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure or healthcare projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in hospital or healthcare facility projects.
- Experience in multi-specialty hospitals, medical colleges, healthcare campuses, or healthcare infrastructure development.
- Proven track record in managing projects from concept to commissioning.
