Warehouse (Shipping & Inventory Control)
Job Purpose
Responsible for outbound warehouse operations, including finished goods receipt, picking, staging, packing, shipping, dispatch, inventory control, and end-to-end material traceability. The role ensures effective warehouse operations, timely customer deliveries, high inventory accuracy, and compliance with quality and safety standards. The incumbent should be adaptable and capable of working in a dynamic plant start-up environment, with hands-on experience in Oracle ERP warehouse transactions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Receive finished goods from Production and execute picking, staging, packing, shipping, dispatch, and all related inventory transactions in Oracle ERP.
2. Prepare shipping documentation, including delivery challans, packing lists, invoices (where applicable), transport documents, and coordinate customer dispatches and inter-plant transfers.
3. Ensure accurate packing, labelling, barcode identification, and compliance with customer-specific shipping requirements while maintaining FIFO, FEFO, and batch/lot traceability.
4. Maintain high inventory accuracy through cycle counting, stock verification, physical inventory, periodic and perpetual inventory activities, reconciliation, and variance analysis.
5. Monitor inventory health, including excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory, and implement corrective and preventive actions to optimize inventory performance.
6. Coordinate with Production, Planning, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Logistics, and Customer Service teams to ensure timely dispatches and uninterrupted material flow.
7. Independently perform warehouse operational activities, including inventory transactions, shipping, dispatch coordination, and material handling, while supervising contract manpower whenever deployed.
8. Ensure compliance with ISO, IATF 16949, EHS requirements, warehouse SOPs, 5S practices, and customer-specific quality requirements while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
9. Achieve warehouse operational KPIs related to shipping, dispatch accuracy, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, productivity, and customer service.
10. Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate warehouse records and documentation. Prepare, review, and update warehouse SOPs and work instructions as required.
11. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency, shipping performance, inventory control, space utilization, and process standardization.
12. Supervise and coordinate contract manpower, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, productivity, and operational standards whenever deployed.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Any Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline
- 38 years of experience in warehouse operations within electronics, semiconductor, automotive, EMS, or manufacturing industries.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP (Inventory/Warehouse Management modules).
- Strong knowledge of shipping operations, inventory control, FIFO/FEFO practices, barcode systems, material traceability, and customer dispatch processes.
- Experience in plant start-up or greenfield manufacturing projects is highly desirable.
- Good analytical, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Familiarity with Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
