Key Responsibilities
Time & Motion Study
- Conduct time studies using stopwatch, video analysis, or digital time study tools.
- Perform motion studies to eliminate unnecessary movements and improve operator efficiency.
- Establish Standard Allowed Time (SAT) and Standard Minute Value (SMV) for manufacturing operations.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) based on study findings.
- Recommend workstation improvements using ergonomic principles.
- Analyse operator fatigue and introduce methods to reduce physical strain.
Process Improvement
- Analyse manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks and non-value-added activities.
- Improve plant layout to optimize material flow.
- Reduce cycle time through process optimization.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Support Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives.
Productivity Improvement
- Monitor labour productivity and machine utilization.
- Calculate production efficiency and line balancing.
- Develop productivity improvement plans.
- Optimize manpower deployment.
Capacity Planning
- Conduct production capacity analysis.
- Estimate manpower and machine requirements.
- Support production planning with accurate capacity calculations.
Cost Reduction
- Identify opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs.
- Eliminate waste using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Improve material handling methods.
- Reduce overtime and idle time.
