Role Overview
The Assistant Manager / Logistics Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end logistics operations, warehousing, transportation, inventory control, vendor management, and last-mile delivery across India. The role requires strong coordination with internal teams, third-party logistics (3PL) partners, vendors, and customers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials while maintaining high service standards.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent supply chain management expertise, robust analytical and problem-solving abilities, and experience in handling logistics operations within the office automation, IT distribution, or related industries.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Transportation Management
- Manage and oversee daily logistics operations for Pan India dispatches and deliveries.
- Coordinate same-day and next-day delivery bookings through logistics partners and courier service providers.
- Monitor shipment movement and proactively address delays, transit issues, and service disruptions.
- Ensure seamless execution of first-mile, middle-mile, and last-mile delivery operations.
- Optimize transportation routes and logistics costs without compromising service quality.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Supervise warehouse operations and ensure efficient storage, handling, and movement of inventory.
- Ensure materials are stored systematically in designated rack locations for easy traceability and accuracy.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities to avoid stock shortages.
- Ensure timely and accurate updating of inventory records in the MIS system.
Stock Reconciliation & Inventory Control
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconciliation.
- Perform weekly stock reconciliations between physical inventory and MIS records.
- Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and support audit compliance requirements.
Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Management
- Provide training, guidance, and operational support to 3PL partners and warehouse personnel.
- Monitor performance of logistics service providers based on defined KPIs.
- Ensure adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs) and operational procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with logistics partners.
Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate,
and onboard logistics vendors and transportation partners.
- Negotiate transportation rates, service agreements, and commercial terms.
- Prepare and maintain vendor contracts and agreements.
- Review vendor performance periodically and implement improvement plans as required.
Billing & Cost Control
- Verify, approve, and process logistics-related bills and invoices.
- Ensure billing accuracy and compliance with agreed commercial terms.
- Track transportation expenses and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for financial audits.
Insurance & Claims Management
- Handle insurance claims arising from material damage, shortages, losses, or transit incidents.
- Coordinate with insurance providers and logistics partners for claim settlements.
- Maintain complete documentation and claim records.
Customer Service & Issue Resolution
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Address customer complaints and logistics-related issues promptly.
- Coordinate with cross-functional departments to resolve operational challenges.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through effective service delivery.
Process Improvement & Performance Management
- Continuously evaluate logistics processes and recommend operational improvements.
- Drive initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
- Track and analyze key logistics metrics, including:
- Delivery performance
- Transportation costs
- Inventory accuracy
- Order fulfillment rates
- Stock levels
- Vendor performance
- Warehouse productivity
- Generate MIS reports and management dashboards.
Compliance & Audit Management
- Ensure compliance with applicable logistics, transportation, and warehousing regulations.
- Maintain adherence to internal company policies and audit requirements.
- Support internal and external audits with accurate records and documentation.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Collaborate with Sales, Service, Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams.
- Coordinate effectively with vendors, transporters, warehouse staff, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure smooth communication and timely escalation of critical issues.
Required Qualifications
Educational Qualification
- Graduate/Post Graduate degree in:
- Logistics Management
- Supply Chain Management
- Operations Management
- Business Administration(preferred)
Experience
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Warehousing, or Distribution Operations.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

Preferred Candidate Profile

Compensation
CTC: 5,00,000 – 7,00,000 per annum (Negotiable based on experience and qualifications)
