Job Title: BIM Estimator (5D)

Job Summary

The BIM Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates using Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools and methodologies. The BIM Estimator will be Reporting to BIM Manager. This role integrates 3D models with quantity take-offs, cost data to support bidding, budgeting, and project planning. The BIM Estimator works closely with BIM manger, project managers, engineers, architects to ensure cost efficiency and model accuracy throughout project development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Estimating & Quantity Take-off

- Perform detailed quantity take-offs directly from 2D drawings and BIM models (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, etc.).
- Validate and update quantities as models evolve through project stages.
- Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed quantity take-offs.
- Analyse project model & drawings, specs, and data to determine material & finishes.

2. BIM Model Management

- Review models to ensure that models contain required cost-related information.
- From quantification aspect, provide inputs to BIM manager for BIM Process.
- Coordinate with consultant, Design team for Project finishes.
- Use 3D, 4D (schedule), and 5D (cost) integrations to support estimation workflows.

3. Cost Analysis & Reporting

- Develop and maintain cost databases, unit rates, and historical project cost records.
- Create and maintain quantity reports & comparison reports for the various projects.




- Provide detailed breakdowns of project quantity for internal and Contractor use.
- Support budget team to enhance budget requirements and keep record of change.

4. Collaboration & Coordination

- Coordinate with BIM Manager, project managers, design teams, and internal team
- Participate in design review meetings and BIM coordination sessions.
- Support procurement by verify quantities of Project bids, billings

5. Software & Technical Skills

- Utilize BIM-related tools for estimation: Revit, Navisworks, CostX, BEXEL Manager, or similar.
- Maintain model-based estimation standards and templates.

Qualifications

Education

- Bachelors degree in construction management, Quantity Surveying, B.E., Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).

Experience

- 7–10+ years of experience in construction estimating or quantity surveying.
- Hands-on experience with BIM tools and digital estimating platforms.

Skills

- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost drivers.
- Proficiency in BIM software and model-based workflows.
- Analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Certifications

- Certified Qualified Estimator
- Autodesk Certified Professional (Revit/Navisworks).
