Senior Accountant : 5 to 8 Yrs | Budget - 5 to 8L

POSITION SUMMARY

The Accountant will manage end-to-end accounting operations for our Jewellery Company, ensuring accurate financial records, statutory compliance, and timely reporting to support business and management decisions in a gold and diamond jewellery retail environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Maintain day-to-day books of accounts including purchases, sales, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L;, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST, TDS, and other statutory returns and compliances.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor and customer reconciliations.
- Oversee stock and inventory valuation in coordination with store and counter teams, including gold, diamond, platinum, and polki categories.
- Coordinate with auditors for internal, statutory, and tax audits, and ensure timely closure of audit queries.
- Monitor cash flow, fund management, and banking transactions including LC/OD facilities where applicable.
- Support budgeting, MIS reporting, and cost control initiatives for management review.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable laws (Income Tax, GST, Companies Act).




- Supervise and guide junior accounts/back-office staff, reviewing their work for accuracy.
- Liaise with banks, statutory authorities, and external consultants as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com/M.Com); CA-Inter or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in retail, jewellery, or trading business for Senior Accountant.
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in retail, jewellery, or trading business for Senior Accountant.
- Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, and Income Tax compliance.
- Proficiency in Tally ERP/Tally Prime and MS Excel; exposure to jewellery-specific ERP/billing software is an advantage.
- Sound understanding of inventory and stock accounting, particularly for precious metals and stones.

- Based at the Vile Parle East showroom/office; standard retail business hours apply.
- May require extended hours during month-end closing, audits, and festive/peak sale seasons.

Timing: 10.30 to 8 pm
