Role Overview

We are looking for a QA Automation Lead with strong expertise in Playwright using JavaScript or TypeScript to lead and scale our automation testing initiatives across Augmont's web applications and platforms.

This is a hands-on role where you will build robust automation frameworks from scratch, drive automation-first quality practices, integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, and significantly reduce manual testing efforts while ensuring high-quality product releases.

Key Responsibilities

QA Automation Leadership

- Own the end-to-end QA automation strategy across web applications and APIs.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Build reliable automated test suites for functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing.
- Drive high automation coverage across all product releases.

Automation Development

- Develop reusable, maintainable, and efficient Playwright test scripts.
- Automate REST API testing and backend validations.
- Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
- Continuously improve test execution speed, stability, and reporting.

Quality Engineering

- Implement Shift-Left testing practices by collaborating with developers early in the SDLC.
- Establish QA automation standards, coding guidelines, and best practices.
- Monitor automation coverage, defect leakage, and quality metrics.
- Ensure reliable and production-ready releases through continuous testing.

Collaboration

- Partner with Engineering, Product,



and DevOps teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Mentor QA engineers in Playwright automation and modern testing practices.
- Promote automation-first and quality engineering culture across teams.

Required Skills & Experience

- 4+ years of experience in QA Automation or Software Testing.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Playwright with JavaScript or TypeScript (mandatory).
- Experience in building automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright.
- Solid experience in Web UI automation and End-to-End testing.
- Experience in API automation using Playwright API Testing, Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript with good coding and debugging skills.
- Experience integrating automated test suites with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Strong understanding of Git, version control, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in FinTech or product-based organizations.
- Exposure to microservices architecture and API-driven applications.
- Experience with SQL/database validation.
- Knowledge of performance testing or security testing is an added advantage.
