Role & responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Electroplaters prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, polishing, and potentially applying other pre-treatment steps to ensure proper adhesion of the current coating.
- Equipment Operation: They operate various electroplating equipment, including tanks, power supplies, and other tools necessary for the process.
- Solution Management: Electroplaters monitor and maintain plating solutions, ensuring they are at the correct concentration and pH for the desired outcome.
- Quality Control: They ensure the quality of the plating process by checking thickness, uniformity, and appearance of the coating.
- Safety: Electroplaters adhere to strict safety protocols, including using personal protective equipment and understanding the hazards associated with chemical solutions and equipment.
- Maintenance: They may also be responsible for the maintenance and repair of electroplating equipment.
