Job Description

Strategic Leadership & Vision

- Develop and communicate the bank's strategic vision and mission in line with the Boards guidance.
- Define long-term and short-term strategic objectives to achieve organizational goals.
- Monitor the banks financial performance and adjust strategies as needed.
- Provide regular updates to the board on the banks performance and financial position.
- Provide regular updates to the board on the bank's strategic progress on new initiatives and projects.

Compliance & Regulatory Reporting

- Ensure the bank's strict adherence to regulatory requirements and banking laws.
- Engage with regulatory authorities, such as the RBI, for compliance and reporting when required and keep abreast of all communication with the regulator.
- Keep upto date on all regulatory changes.
- Ensure a strong culture of compliance in the Bank is institutionalised through adequate controls and systems and developing ethical work practices
- Ensure regular interaction with the Board to get guidance and keep them informed and ensure all governance requirements of the Board are fully met and adequate and timely support provided for all Committees of the Board.
- Ensure regular independent feedback from Audit to ensure that the compliance standards and required controls are in place.

Financial Performance and Risk management

- Ensure the bank meets its financial goals on profitability, growth and long term shareholder value through regular reviews of business, tracking of appropriate performance metrics and timely initiatives for growth and required controls.
- Guide business growth initiatives and proactively engage with teams to ensure that there is adequate market awareness and responsiveness to competition.
- Ensure high quality of the banks portfolio through regular monitoring of NPAs and potential NPAs.
- Monitor the key risks of the Bank regularly and take appropriate action as required and ensure regular review of the Risk map.




- Interact with key customers of the Bank to build a strong brand image and awareness of market trends.
- Foster a culture of innovation in the Bank and especially engage with the teams on product development and ensuring customer delight

Operational Excellence and Efficiency

- Drive transformation in the Operations through focus on digital banking initiatives, technology infrastructure, and data security and reducing the cost of operations.
- Review overall processes to enhance customer service and reduce costs.
- Ensure that the Bank is competitive in meeting TAT standards in the market through regular process reengineering and automation

Build and maintain an effective management team

- Ensure that the Bank develops or inducts high quality talent in key roles to ensure high quality management
- Guide, motivate and mentor the team to achieve aspirational goals and create a positive high performing work environment
- Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide regular feedback to staff on their performance

Represent the bank to stakeholders, including investors, customers, and employees and community

- Build robust relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, customers, and employees.
- Represent the bank at industry events or conferences.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders to keep them informed about the banks performance.
- Participate in community development initiatives and social responsibility activities.
- Represent the bank in the local community and maintain strong community relationships.
- Oversee the PR function

Preferred candidate profile

This role serves as the Chief Executive Officer or Managing Director for a banking institution, responsible for steering the bank's strategic vision and financial performance while ensuring strict regulatory compliance. The leader will oversee risk management, drive digital transformation in operations, and act as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors, the RBI, and key stakeholders. Well versed with Marathi language.
