Job Purpose

To provide product level support to GIB Channel and other sourcing channels/ teams for Railways and Defense with respect to the Government Business, thereby leading to growth of the portfolio. Focused approach on the railways ecosystem and defense segments to exploit emerging business opportunities and build a robust portfolio in coordination with the relevant sourcing channels and other internal & external stakeholders.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

ACTIONABLE

Business Objectives

- Product Manager will be responsible for scoping and identifying untapped opportunities, and for driving acquisition across Railway ecosystem and Defense segments.
- Share the data with the sourcing channels, discuss actionable on the same & execute the actionable in a structured manner.
- Identify high-performing teams/locations and facilitate replications by sharing their success stories along with actionable with other channels/sourcing teams.
- Running business drives with identified opportunity and track the end-to-end conversion with regular updates to be shared with seniors from product/process and sourcing channels.
- Pre-defined Monthly / Fortnightly /Weekly MIS on various parameters like Values, Numbers, productivity etc.
- Tracking of recommendation letter / empanelment / embargo and its revocation.
- Opportunity sizing of the mandates in each segment and work closely with sourcing channels and other relevant teams to ensure the conversions and replication across the geographies.
- Identify the channels / geographies with low throughput and highlight the same to respective teams for increasing customer engagement
- Global Mailer, Do you know and Teaser campaigns for sourcing channels, and internal stakeholders such as CPU/WBO/BTG as relevant.
- Regular updates to Senior Management on the Business performance. Publish updates on the Railway Board / zones, and Defense units including peripheral departments.

Portfolio/ product/ process/ Management/ Exploring new markets and segments





- Product Manager will be responsible for exploring new business opportunities, deepening existing relationships in coordination with other teams/ channel.
- Creation of new products and processes through market intelligence, competition analysis to create customized offering for GIB customers.
- Work with Wholesale banking team and sourcing teams to tap various lending opportunities at different levels of the government.
- Scoping and segmentation of the other business from the customers of the relevant banking verticals.
- Identification of key pain areas of the target segments and coordinate with various internal teams to help them design best fit solution that meets the current & future needs.
- Work on streamlining acquisition of data and publishing MIS on regular basis.
- Understanding and evaluating the competition business strategies to create new products and processes through continuous improvement.
- Benchmark against competition product and offerings to identify existing gaps and modify product offerings.
- Regular interaction/ field visits along with channel on need basis.

Internal Coordination

- Marketing support - Leverage the marketing team to create collaterals and develop consumer insights e.g. videos and customized digital campaigns to facilitate business
- Regulatory/Audit/Compliance - Ensure that the product adhere to the regulatory requirements in consultation with audit and compliance
- BTG Support/Technology - Product development/enhancement basis the feedback received from business teams and customers
- Will be responsible for imparting knowledge on the various schemes and initiatives taken by Railway Board and Defense units.




- Understanding various processes of wholesale banking and make aware the GIB teams about the same for better coordination.

Customizing Offers; Research & Development

- Product bundling and customized sales enablers such as offer letters, PPTs, one pagers etc. to be shared with channel and update on internal portals.
- Development of training content in coordination with wholesale team
- Understand and evaluating the Market Size/Opportunity and Competition Business Strategies for Railways and Defense.
- Use of secondary research for understanding the business segments in the market.
- Identification and market scoping of new business segments, analyzing needs of the segment and develop customized offerings working in collaboration with teams.
- Review competition offering on a regular basis and keep improving our offerings in coordination with compliance, audit, process, and salary product team.

MBA / Post Graduation in finance/ economics or relevant field.

- Valuable knowledge of functioning of government departments, schemes, funds flow, budget preparation, and inter-department relations.
- Knowledge of business conducted by railway board, railway zones, and commercial activities undertaken by railways in general.
- Knowledge of functioning, hierarchy and decision making in the defense sector.
- Deep understanding and knowledge of financial Products & Processes
- Knowledge of banking regulations and policies
- Excellent planning and organizing skills.
- Good communication skills- written and verbal.

Experience Required:

- Minimum experience of 3 years
- Exposure to Product, Process, Competition and Compliance in Banking
