Job Description-

An interior architect designs and reconfigures the structural layout of building interiors. They bridge the gap between traditional architecture and interior design by handling spatial planning, load-bearing wall placements, building codes, and material specifications, while keeping the functionality and visual atmosphere of the space in mind. [1, 2, 3, 4]Their day-to-day responsibilities and tasks include:

- Structural Planning: Reimagining existing spaces (adaptive reuse), modifying floor plans, and determining the placement of doors, windows, and non-load-bearing walls. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Building Compliance: Ensuring interior structures meet safety regulations, egress codes, and accessibility standards. [1, 2, 3]
- Mapping Services:



Designing the layout for architectural plumbing, electrical plans, and HVAC integration. [1, 2]
- Material & Lighting Specs: Choosing materials, textures, and lighting schemes that interact harmoniously with the building's structure. [1, 2]
- Project Management: Creating 3D drafts and technical blueprints using CAD and BIM software, and supervising construction and contractors in office. [1, 2]

While traditional architects focus heavily on the building's exterior envelope and structural shell, and interior decorators focus on furniture and soft aesthetics, interior architects shape the way humans safely experience and navigate the "inside" of a built environment.
