Role Purpose:
Handle end-to-end import, customs clearance, documentation, compliance, logistics coordination and cost control to ensure timely material availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage import shipments from supplier dispatch to factory receipt.
- Coordinate with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, Customs House Agent, shipping lines and transporters.
- Ensure customs clearance, Bill of Entry filing, duty payment and cargo release on time.
- Verify invoice, packing list, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, insurance, test certificates and compliance documents.
- Handle HS Code classification, duty calculation, Foreign Trade Agreement benefits and import scheme compliance.
- Manage Directorate General of Foreign Trade, ICEGATE, customs,
IGCR and other statutory requirements.
- Track shipment status, clearance delays, demurrage, detention and logistics cost.
- Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, Finance, Planning, Quality and Production.
- Maintain import MIS, document records and audit support.
- Resolve customs queries, amendments, assessment issues and shipment disputes.

- On-time clearance.
- Zero production loss due to import delay.
- Minimum demurrage and detention.
- Accurate documentation.
- Legal duty optimization.
- Solid CHA and freight-forwarder performance.
