Head Legal (Affordable Housing)
Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra
Role Overview
Lead the Legal function for the Affordable Housing business, ensuring legal compliance, property due diligence, documentation, litigation management, and regulatory governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop legal strategy, policies, and governance for Affordable Housing.
- Oversee property title verification, due diligence, and mortgage documentation.
- Ensure compliance with RBI, NHB, RERA, SARFAESI, and other applicable laws.
- Manage litigation, recovery matters, external advocates, and legal vendors.
- Support Credit, Risk, Sales, Operations, and Product teams on legal matters.
- Identify legal risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Build and lead the Legal team; develop SOPs and training.
Qualifications & Experience
- LL.B. required; LL.M. preferred.
- 1218 years of legal experience in Housing Finance/Banks/NBFCs.
- Minimum 5 years in Affordable Housing or Retail Mortgage legal functions.
