We are hiring a Content Compliance Trainee Kannada based in Noida. It is an entry-level role focused on Standards & Practices (S&P;) content compliance, subtitle and caption creation, and QC for Kannada-language content across OTT, broadcast, and digital media.
The work centres on reviewing Kannada-language content against client and platform guidelines, creating and syncing subtitles and closed captions, and flagging anything that needs attention. It suits someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable applying rules consistently across a high volume of content. Training is provided, so freshers with strong Kannada and English language skills who are willing to learn will be considered alongside candidates with prior experience.
The role offers great exposure to an exciting media and entertainment ecosystem, with work spanning leading global OTT platforms and well-known content franchises.
What you'll do:
- Apply keen attention to detail and comprehend complex content against defined guidelines and rules.
- Apply client-specific protocols as needed and adhere to all special instructions.
- Complete daily targets in a timely and accurate manner.
- Make decisions using the best judgment for the task at hand.
- Comprehend and transcribe Kannada audio snippets wherever necessary.
- Review and fix subtitle timecodes to precisely match the audio-text sync.
- Be proactive and communicate problems and developments effectively to the Manager, peers, and internal staff as needed.
- Conduct research for correct spellings, terms, characters, translations, and media information to ensure accuracy when creating and syncing Kannada text.
- Write and comprehend the given audio/video in the true essence and context of the character, story, place, and setup.
What you need:
MUST HAVE
- Native proficiency in Kannada and fluency in English, in both writing and comprehension.
- Good understanding of Kannada audio and accurate comprehension across regional accents and dialects.
- Excellent critical skills in Kannada spelling, grammar, punctuation, and idiomatic flow.
- Ability to use problem-solving and decision-making skills to exercise initiative.
- Comfort with tasks requiring extreme accuracy.
- Willing to work extra hours when needed, with incentives provided for additional work.
POSITIVE TO HAVE
- Any experience in subtitling, transcription, and related guidelines such as SMPTE; related software tools experience preferred.
- Ability to learn and train colleagues and external team members on CC/subtitle practices, workflows, and tool updates.
- Thorough knowledge of using specialist Kannada dictionaries, thesauruses, and reference books to find the closest equivalent for terminology and words used.
- Ability to type for extended periods and work under tight deadlines, with a commitment to detail, quality, and productivity.
- Fluency in any additional regional or foreign language is a plus.
