Role & responsibilities
1. Business and Project Context
- Review business objectives, target users, requirements, workflows, reference material, and technical constraints before beginning design.
- Understand whether a project is a marketing website, landing page, client portal, SaaS product, internal workflow system, or dashboard.
- Ask thoughtful questions when requirements, content, or business goals are incomplete or unclear.
- Translate business requirements into clear user journeys, page structures, workflows, and interface designs.
- Maintain continuity with approved designs, previous decisions, brand standards, and reusable components.
- Present design work clearly and explain the reasoning behind layout, hierarchy, navigation, and interaction decisions.
2. WordPress and Marketing Website Design
- Design responsive WordPress websites, landing pages, service pages, industry pages, resource pages, and corporate pages.
- Create clear content hierarchy, conversion paths, calls to action, trust sections, case studies, FAQs, and forms.
- Understand the difference between branding, lead-generation, SEO, paid-campaign, and informational pages.
- Design within practical WordPress and page-builder implementation constraints.
- Create reusable sections and page components that developers can implement efficiently.
- Collaborate with content and SEO teams so layouts support headings, readability, search visibility, and conversion goals.
3. Portal, SaaS, and Application UX
- Design complete workflows rather than isolated screens.
- Create user flows, wireframes, clickable prototypes, and high-fidelity interfaces.
- Design dashboards, tables, filters, forms, approval processes, status tracking, notifications, document management, and administrative interfaces.
- Consider user roles, permissions, access levels, and workflow dependencies.
- Include loading, empty, validation, error,
success, and edge-case states.
- Design responsive experiences for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
- Build and maintain reusable design components and consistent interaction patterns.
- Prepare transparent developer handoff documentation, annotations, interaction notes, and assets.
4. AI-Assisted Design and Productivity
- Use AI tools to accelerate research, requirements analysis, wireframing, layout exploration, UX review, content organization, and documentation.
- Use tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Figma AI, Relume, Lovable, or similar platforms where appropriate.
- Use AI to identify missing states, edge cases, usability risks, and alternative design approaches.
- Review and improve AI-generated output rather than accepting it without judgment.
- Demonstrate measurable improvements in speed while maintaining quality, consistency, and project context.
- Stay current with emerging AI-assisted design and prototyping tools.
5. Process, Collaboration, and Accountability
- Follow established design briefs, checklists, naming conventions, review stages, and approval processes.
- Start with information architecture, workflow, wireframes, and component planning before high-fidelity design.
- Provide regular progress updates and raise blockers early.
- Incorporate feedback accurately without losing the original business objective.
- Work collaboratively with development and QA teams to resolve implementation and usability issues.
- Organize Figma files, components, prototypes,
design assets, and handoff notes so other team members can easily use them.
- Take ownership of design quality and completeness rather than waiting for detailed page-by-page instructions.
Required Qualifications
- 3 - 5 years of professional UX/UI, product design, or web experience design experience.
- A strong portfolio showing both marketing websites and portal, SaaS, dashboard, or workflow application projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, auto layout, prototyping, and developer handoff.
- Strong understanding of responsive web design, usability, information hierarchy, and interaction design.
- Experience designing complex forms, tables, dashboards, filters, workflows, and role-based interfaces.
- Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into practical designs.
- Experience collaborating with developers and understanding implementation constraints.
- Clear written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple client projects.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools to improve design speed and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing WordPress websites or working with Elementor, Gutenberg, or similar page builders.
- Experience with US-based clients or distributed international teams.
- Experience creating or maintaining design systems and reusable component libraries.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, accessibility, SEO, and frontend implementation.
- Experience with prototyping or AI-assisted development tools such as Lovable, Relume, Framer, or Webflow.
- Experience in B2B software, internal operational systems, SaaS products, healthcare, construction, nonprofit, ecommerce, or professional services projects.
