Role & responsibilities

- Lead a team of Software Engineer Managers (SEMs) in the development and maintenance of technology products
- Work alongside fellow Heads of Engineering to build and maintain a culture of high standards
- Working with Product Management and your SEMs, develop the long-term strategy with your teams and support them as they translate it into achievable goals
- Help drive a deep understanding how architectural elements of the software ecosystem work together, and ensure teams develop engineering and testing approaches that fit the overall strategy
- Deliver regular updates within the team and to leadership
- Foster a culture of continuous engineering improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics
- Encourage creative ideas to the table every day, in order to find better ways of accomplishing your objectives

Experience and Qualifications

- Must have extensive experience in fullstack Java development, with proven ability to influence architecture decisions, guide engineering teams,



and drive highquality delivery
- 15+ years as a software engineer (profession/academic) across a range of technologies (include Java, Javascript), including building distributed systems
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineering manager building, leading and developing exceptional teams in the development of complex systems
- Experience designing software architectures for scalability, reliability and performance
- Experience building a product from concept to prototype and implementation
- Experience developing cloud software services
- Computer Science fundamentals experience in data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
- Proven knowledge and experience of agile delivery processes
- Experience in recruiting, managing and coaching individuals to improve their skills and make them more effective.
