Role & responsibilities:
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive anaesthesia services including general, regional, and local anaesthesia for elective and emergency surgeries.
- Conduct thorough pre-anaesthetic evaluations and formulate appropriate anaesthesia plans.
- Ensure safe intraoperative anaesthesia management and vigilant patient monitoring.
- Manage post-anaesthesia care, including pain management and immediate postoperative complications.
- Respond promptly to anaesthesia-related emergencies and critical situations in the OT and hospital.
- Ensure adherence to patient safety protocols, infection control standards, and hospital policies.
Operation Theatre Duties
- Coordinate effectively with surgeons, nursing staff, and OT technicians to ensure smooth OT functioning.
- Ensure availability and proper functioning of anaesthesia equipment, drugs, and monitors.
- Participate in OT scheduling and effective utilization of OT time.
Academic & Teaching Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior residents, interns, and nursing staff.
- Participate in academic activities such as clinical meetings, case discussions, audits, and CME programs.
- Contribute to departmental teaching and skill-development initiatives.
Administrative & Quality Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and anaesthesia documentation.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement programs, and patient safety initiatives.
- Comply with medico-legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements of the institution.
Preferred candidate profile:
- MD / DNB in Anaesthesiology from a recognized institution.
- Valid Delhi Medical Council registration is mandatory.
- Training or experience in critical care, pain management, or emergency medicine.
- Full-time position with rotational duties, including emergency calls and night shifts as per hospital policy.
- Based primarily in the Operation Theatre and perioperative care areas.
- Strong clinical and decision-making skills in anaesthesia care.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure and emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
