Role & responsibilities

1. Tobacco Board Liaison & Auction Sourcing

- Serve as primary point of contact with the Tobacco Board.
- Attend tobacco auctions, evaluate leaf quality, and secure the best tobacco at competitive rates.
- Track auction calendars, crop patterns, and pricing trends across growing regions to inform sourcing decisions.
- Build direct relationships with growers and traders to secure supply reliability ahead of plant requirements.

2. Non-Tobacco Material (NTM) Procurement

- Source and purchase all non-tobacco raw materials required for production (filters, cigarette paper, packaging materials, adhesives, and other inputs).
- Ensure material quality meets production specifications and delivery timelines align with plant requirements.

3. Vendor Management

- Identify, evaluate, and onboard current vendors across tobacco and NTM categories.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts to optimize cost without compromising quality.
- Maintain long-term vendor relationships and proactively manage performance or quality issues.

4. Cost & Inventory Control

- Monitor market pricing trends to time purchases for cost efficiency.
- Coordinate with plant on raw material inventory levels to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.




- Report procurement costs and variances to the Finance Head.

5. Compliance & Reporting

- Ensure all procurement activity complies with Tobacco Board regulations and relevant statutory requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for audits.
- Provide regular reporting to the Finance Head and promoters on sourcing activity, costs, and vendor performance.

Preferred candidate profile

Must-Haves

- Prior procurement experience within the tobacco/cigarette industry, ideally with direct Tobacco Board liaison and auction experience.
- Demonstrated track record negotiating with vendors and securing competitive raw material pricing.
- Working understanding of NTM categories used in cigarette manufacturing (filters, paper, packaging).
- Willingness to travel to auctions and grower regions as required.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Delhi (CP).

Preferred Background

- Experience working closely with or reporting into a Finance function, with comfort in cost and variance reporting.
- Existing relationships within the tobacco trading and growing community.
