Job Title: Production Plant Lead Vehicle Manufacturing

Role Summary

The Production Plant Lead will oversee the complete vehicle manufacturing operations, ensuring timely production, quality standards, safety, and cost efficiency. The role includes supervising assembly lines, improving processes, managing manpower,

maintaining plant performance KPIs, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Operations & Production Management

- Lead end-to-end vehicle manufacturing operations including chassis assembly, powertrain installation, wiring harness, electricals, fitment, PDI, and final QC.
- Define and monitor daily/weekly production targets; ensure timely delivery of vehicles.
- Manage multiple assembly lines for EV 3W/LCV vehicles depending on plant scope.
- Ensure optimal resource utilization across manpower, machines, and materials.

2. Process Improvement & Quality Assurance

- Establish and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and quality checkpoints at each assembly stage.
- Ensure compliance with vehicle manufacturing standards and regulatory norms (AIS, CMVR).
- Collaborate with QA, R&D;, and service teams to drive zero-defect production.
- Lead root cause analysis (8D, DMAIC, FMEA) for quality/field issues and implement corrective actions.

3. Safety, Compliance & Governance

- Enforce safety standards across plant operations (electrical, mechanical, battery handling, welding, etc.).
- Maintain statutory compliance for factory operations, manpower, and equipment.
- Drive EHS programs, safety drills, and hazard mitigation initiatives.

Team Leadership & Workforce Management

- Lead and mentor supervisors, engineers, line leaders, and technicians.
- Build team capabilities through training on vehicle assembly processes and safety.
- Ensure proper shift management, manpower planning, and performance tracking.

5. Inventory, SCM & Maintenance Coordination

- Coordinate with Supply Chain for material planning, kit readiness, and line feeding.
- Monitor inventory for critical parts like chassis, motor, controller, harness, body panels, etc.
- Interface with maintenance team for uptime, preventive maintenance, and machine health.

6. Cost, Productivity & Efficiency Management

- Drive OEE improvement, cycle time reduction, line balancing, and productivity planning.
- Implement lean manufacturing tools (Kaizen, 5S, JIT, Kanban).
- Control operational costs while improving output quality.

7. New Model Implementation & Plant Expansion

- Support NPI (Recent Product Introduction) and SOP launches on assembly lines.
- Participate in layout planning, line design, and process engineering for plant upgrades.

Qualifications

- B.Tech / BE in Mechanical, Automobile, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
- 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in automotive/EV vehicle manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of assembly line operations for EV vehicles.

Key Skills

- Vehicle assembly expertisechassis, powertrain, wiring, testing, and PDI.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma.
- Ability to lead large teams in a high-speed production environment.
- Strong decision-making, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in handling audits and certifications
