ABOUT THE ROLE

EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

- Graduate in any discipline.
- MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or Procurement will be preferred.
- 8-15 years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management, preferably in the FMCG or Food Industry.
- Strong negotiation and commercial management skills.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing and vendor development.
- Knowledge of inventory management and warehouse operations.
- Good understanding of domestic logistics, import/export documentation, and Incoterms.
- Strong analytical and MIS reporting capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet business timelines.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES -

1. Demand & Supply Planning

- Prepare demand forecasts and procurement plans based on sales projections.
- Develop supply plans to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Coordinate with Sales, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Operations teams for accurate demand planning.
- Monitor procurement schedules to prevent stock shortages or excess inventory.

2. Procurement & Commercial

- Manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, and indirect purchases.
- Develop sourcing strategies to optimize cost while ensuring continuous supply.
- Handle RFQs, supplier quotations, commercial evaluations, and vendor selection.
- Draft, negotiate, review, and manage procurement contracts and commercial agreements.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procurement procedures.
- Drive continuous cost reduction, value engineering, and process improvement initiatives.

3. Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management

- Identify, evaluate, and onboard current suppliers.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with strategic vendors.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Service (QCDS).
- Conduct supplier audits,



vendor evaluations, and periodic performance reviews.
- Maintain vendor master data and procurement documentation.

4. Negotiation & Cost Management

- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial agreements.
- Control procurement costs within approved budgets.
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and inflation to recommend sourcing strategies.
- Implement quarterly and annual cost-saving initiatives.

5. Logistics Management

- Coordinate domestic and international logistics operations.
- Ensure smooth interstate movement of materials and finished goods. • Apply Incoterms knowledge for import and export procurement.
- Coordinate with transporters, freight forwarders, CHA, and logistics partners.
- Track shipments and ensure timely deliveries.

6. Warehouse & Inventory Management

- Monitor daily and weekly inventory levels.
- Conduct inventory analysis and ageing reviews.
- Maintain optimum inventory while minimizing carrying costs.
- Monitor reorder levels and ensure timely stock replenishment.
- Coordinate with Warehouse, Stores, QA/QC, and Supply Chain teams. • Ensure inventory is maintained as per SOPs and company guidelines.

7. New Product Development (NPD)

- Support New Product Development (NPD) initiatives through sourcing of new materials and suppliers.
- Coordinate procurement activities for product commercialization.
- Ensure timely availability of materials for new product launches.

8. Reporting & MIS

• Prepare procurement dashboards and MIS reports.

- Generate inventory status, ageing, and reorder level reports.
- Prepare vendor performance scorecards.
- Submit monthly procurement, inventory, and budget review reports.
- Track procurement KPIs and recommend process improvements.

9. Team Management

- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of team members.
- Foster collaboration across Procurement, Supply Chain, Production, QA, Finance, Sales, and Warehouse functions.
