Job Summary
AKAS Medical Equipment is looking for a Hardware Engineer to join our R&D; team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in PCB schematic design, PCB layout, hardware development, testing, debugging, and validation. The role involves working closely with Embedded Engineers to develop reliable medical device hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop analog and digital electronic circuits for medical devices.
- Create PCB schematic diagrams using industry-standard EDA tools.
- Design multi-layer PCB layouts by considering signal integrity, EMI/EMC, thermal management, and manufacturability.
- Independently execute the complete PCB design cycle from concept to prototype.
- Perform component selection, BOM preparation, footprint creation, and library management.
- Test, troubleshoot, debug, and validate hardware prototypes.
- Conduct board bring-up, functional testing, and hardware performance verification.
- Work closely with Embedded/Firmware Engineers for hardware-software integration and debugging.
- Support prototype assembly, production transfer, and design improvements.
- Prepare technical documentation including schematic files, PCB layout files, test reports, design calculations, and engineering change documents.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable medical device and electronic industry standards.
Skills & Experience
- 1 to 2 years of experience in Hardware Design and Development.
- Strong experience in PCB schematic design and PCB layout.
- Proficiency in PCB design software such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, Eagle, KiCad, or similar EDA tools.
- Good understanding of analog and digital circuit design.
- Experience in component selection, circuit simulation, and PCB stack-up design.
- Hands-on experience with hardware debugging tools such as:
- Oscilloscope
- Logic Analyzer
- Digital Multimeter
- Function Generator
- Valuable knowledge of Microcontrollers and communication protocols, including:
- I2C
- SPI
- UART
- USB
- RS232
- CAN
- Ethernet
- Wi-Fi
- BLE (preferred)
Project Experience
- Experience in end-to-end PCB design, including schematic creation, PCB layout, testing, and debugging.
- Should have independently completed at least one PCB hardware project and be able to explain their role and technical contribution.
- Experience working with Embedded Engineers during hardware development is preferred.
- Eligibility
- B.E. / B.Tech in ECE or EEE.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in Hardware Design/Testing.
- Skilled freshers with strong PCB design projects may also apply.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
