Job Description - Salesforce Technical Project Manager Pune/Chennai/Bangalore/Hyderabad
Role SummaryThe Technical Project Manager (TPM) for Salesforce is accountable for the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of Salesforce programme workstreams. This role sits at the intersection of project management discipline and Salesforce platform awareness ensuring that delivery teams operate with rigour, that risks are surfaced early, and that client expectations are managed with precision. The TPM owns the project governance model, drives cross-functional coordination across business analysts, architects, developers, and QA, and acts as the primary delivery point of contact for the client PMO. Experience in the telecom industry is a robust advantage, given the complexity of BSS/OSS landscapes and field operations contexts in which these programmes are delivered.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Delivery
- Own end-to-end project planning: define scope, WBS, milestones, resource plan, and delivery roadmap for Salesforce implementation engagements.
- Drive Agile/Scrum delivery cadences facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives as a hands-on Scrum practitioner.
- Manage project schedules in collaboration with Technical Leads and Architects; track progress against baselined plans.
- Coordinate across multiple workstreams (e.g. FSL, Sales Cloud, integrations, data migration) to ensure alignment and dependency management.
- Oversee UAT planning and execution: coordinate business users, manage defect triage, and drive sign-off.
- Manage go-live readiness assessments, cutover planning, hypercare scheduling, and post-launch stabilisation.
- Risk, Issue & Change Management
- Maintain a live RAID log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies); ensure mitigations are owned and actioned.
- Identify scope creep early and manage change requests through a formal change control process.
- Escalate blockers to programme leadership with clear impact analysis and recommended resolution paths.
- Proactively manage client expectations during delivery volatility communicate impacts on timeline, cost, and scope transparently.
- Stakeholder & Client Management
- Serve as the primary delivery interface for the client project sponsor, PMO, and business stakeholders.
- Prepare and present weekly/bi-weekly status reports, executive dashboards, and steering committee packs.
- Build trusted relationships with client counterparts; manage escalations with professionalism and urgency.
- Facilitate workshops for requirements sign-off, milestone reviews, and go/no-go decisions.
- Financials & Governance
- Track project budget, forecast burn rate, and report actuals vs. plan; flag financial risks ahead of variance.
- Manage resource onboarding, offboarding, and utilisation across onshore and offshore team members.
- Ensure project artefacts (SOW, project charter, test plans, training materials) are produced, reviewed, and baselined on time.
- Drive adherence to delivery governance standards and quality gates defined by the practice.
- Team Enablement
- Remove impediments for the delivery team; create the conditions for sustainable pace and high performance.
- Partner with the Technical Architect and Technical Lead to align delivery priorities with technical constraints.
- Coordinate vendor, third-party, and client IT dependencies that affect the Salesforce delivery timeline.
Required Skills & Experience
- 14+ years of project management experience, with 9+ years managing Salesforce platform implementations.
- Proven track record delivering complex, multi-workstream Salesforce programmes (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, FSL, or equivalent).
- Strong command of Agile/Scrum delivery hands-on experience running Scrum ceremonies, managing sprint backlogs in Jira, tracking team velocity, and coaching teams on Agile practices.
- Experience with hybrid waterfall-Agile project models and the ability to adapt governance to client maturity.
- Hands-on experience with project management tools: Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of the Salesforce platform delivery lifecycle: discovery, design, build, test, deploy, hypercare.
- Experience managing budgets of + and distributed teams of 1020+ across onshore/offshore models.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous stakeholder groups at varying levels of seniority.
- Familiarity with Salesforce DevOps practices: release management, sandbox strategy, and deployment packaging.
- Telecom domain exposure understanding of BSS/OSS systems, field operations workflows, network provisioning, or telco-specific CRM/billing integrations; direct experience managing Salesforce programmes for a telecom client is a strong advantage.

- Certified Scrum Master(CSM) or SAFe Agilist
- Salesforce Certified Business Analyst
- ITIL Foundation (for service transition engagements)
