Job Title: Design Engineer Automotive Lighting / Plastic Product Design

Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 2 to 6 years of experience in Automotive lighting/plastic product Design.
- Experience in Automotive Lighting Design is preferred. Candidates with hands-on experience in Automotive Plastic Product Design (Interior/Exterior Trim, Bumper, Grille, Door Trim, Console, Pillars, etc.) are also encouraged to apply.

Required Skills

- Strong hands-on experience in CATIA V5 (3D Modeling, Surface Modeling, Assembly & 2D Drafting).
- Experience in Automotive Lighting (Head Lamp, Tail Lamp, DRL, Fog Lamp, Signal Lamp) or Automotive Plastic Components.
- Positive knowledge of Plastic Part Design, Injection Molding, DFM/DFA, and Tooling.
- Hands-on experience in GD&T;, Tolerance Stack-up Analysis, DFMEA, DVP, EBOM/BOM, and Engineering Change Management (ECN/ECR).
- Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, product development lifecycle, and ECE regulations (preferred).
- Good understanding of vehicle packaging, manufacturability, and cost optimization.




- Strong analytical, communication, and customer interaction skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop automotive lighting systems and/or plastic components based on customer requirements.
- Create and release 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using CATIA V5.
- Perform GD&T;, tolerance stack-up analysis, packaging studies, and design validation.
- Prepare engineering deliverables including DFMEA, DVP, EBOM/BOM, engineering drawings, and validation documents.
- Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and engineering change implementation.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to resolve design issues and ensure timely project delivery.
- Drive value engineering, design improvements, and cost optimization initiatives.

Preferred Experience

- Experience with Automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
- Exposure to customer-facing engineering, technical discussions, and complete product development from concept to production.
