- Allocate, format, and configure storage volumes using tools like DFSMS, ISMF, IDCAMS.
- Maintain SMS (System Managed Storage) configurations and policies.
2. Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- Track storage utilization and pool thresholds.
- Perform performance tuning for storage subsystems.
- Analyze storage usage trends and forecast capacity needs.
3. Backup & Recovery
- Implement and manage backup and restore processes using utilities like DFSMShsm, DFSMSrmm, FDR/ABR.
- Support disaster recovery planning and execution, including replication and failover strategies.
4. System Upgrades & Maintenance
- Support z/OS and storage management product upgrades and customization.
- Apply patches and configuration changes to maintain system integrity.
5. Troubleshooting & Incident Management
- Diagnose and resolve storage-related issues promptly.
- Participate in change management and incident response processes.
