Scope of Role:
We are seeking a skilled NVH CAE Engineer with 39 years of experience in automotive NVH simulation to work as an individual contributor, capable of independently delivering complete NVH load cases from model build to interpretation and recommendations. The candidate will drive BIW and full-vehicle NVH performance development, ensuring targets are met through simulation-led design support and correlation with physical testing.
Area of Responsibility:
- Independently build and validate BIW and full vehicle (trim body) FE models, including:
- Shell/solid meshing (Hex/Tet)
- Connections (bolt, weld, seam, adhesive, etc.)
- Contacts and mechanisms/assemblies
- Perform end-to-end NVH CAE simulations, including:
- Normal modes / modal analysis
- Frequency response (FRF)
- Noise Transfer Function (NTF)
- Vibration Transfer Function (VTF)
- Dynamic stiffness
- Powertrain/structure interaction
- Drive NVH performance development for BIW and vehicle systems:
- Meet defined NVH targets
- Identify gaps vs targets
- Recommend engineering countermeasures
- Conduct root cause analysis for NVH issues and provide actionable design improvements
- Perform baseline simulations, analyse results, and clearly communicate insights to stakeholders
- Support test-to-CAE correlation activities and model updating
- Collaborate with design teams for NVH-driven optimization of structures
- Prepare and present clear, structured reports with conclusions and recommendations
Knowledge / Experience– ~3 to 9 years in NVH CAE preferably in automotive application
- Strong expertise in FE model building using HyperMesh
- Hands-on experience with:
- OptiStruct / Nastran solvers
- HyperView & HyperGraph for post-processing
- Excellent understanding of:
- Finite Element theory and NVH fundamentals
- Model quality criteria and best practices
- Automotive BIW structures and trim integration
- Proficiency in:
- Result interpretation (mode shapes, FRFs, transfer paths)
- CAE reporting and documentation
- Strong understanding of:
- Structural dynamics
- Vibro-acoustic behavior in vehicles
- Noise and vibration paths
- Working knowledge of:
- Automotive subsystems and integration
- Solid analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work as an independent contributor with minimal supervision
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Logical thinking with structured approach to engineering problems
- Proactive and result-oriented attitude
Qualification:
- BE/ M.E./B. Tech in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering from a recognized university.
