We are seeking a highly skilled AI Prompt Engineer to design, optimize, and manage prompts for advanced Large Language Models (LLMs) such as OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and custom in-house models. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machine learning, NLP behavior, prompt patterns, and ability to translate business requirements into high-performing AI workflows.

This role works closely with product, engineering, operations, and business teams to build scalable, reliable, and safe AI-driven applications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prompt Design & Optimization

Create, refine, and maintain prompts for conversational agents, automation workflows, copilots, and AI tools.

Develop few-shot, chain-of-thought, and structured prompt patterns.

Evaluate prompt performance using A/B testing and quality metrics.

Build reusable prompt templates and prompt libraries.

2. AI Workflow Engineering

Implement prompt-based pipelines for classification, summarization, generation, validation, RAG, and document automation.

Work with vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval frameworks.

Integrate LLMs into existing applications using APIs and SDKs.

3. Model Evaluation & Safety

Conduct evaluations of LLM output accuracy, bias, risk, and reliability.

Apply guardrails, moderation rules, and secure-prompting techniques.

Collaborate with security/compliance teams to ensure responsible AI usage.

4. Cross-Team Collaboration





Work with SMEs to convert domain knowledge into effective prompts.

Partner with engineering to build scalable AI services.

Train internal teams on prompt crafting and best practices.

5. Documentation & Governance

Document prompt versions, test results, and quality benchmarks.

Maintain prompt repositories and model interaction logs.

Support compliance teams for audits and governance reviews.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

Strong understanding of NLP, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector databases.

Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI, or similar platforms.

Proficiency in Python or JavaScript for API integrations.

Familiarity with prompt evaluation frameworks (LangChain, Semantic Kernel, LlamaIndex).

Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and model architectures.

Prompting & AI Skills

Proven experience designing effective prompts for different use cases.

Ability to break down complex business problems into structured prompt logic.

Knowledge of few-shot prompting, agents, tool use, and multi-step workflows.

Soft Skills

Strong communication and analytical thinking.

Ability to collaborate with both technical and business teams.

Detail-oriented with ability to iterate quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience building AI products, copilots, chatbots, or autonomous agents.

Knowledge of fine-tuning, model selection, and evaluation methodologies.
