Position Title

Executive / Senior Executive Customs & Logistics

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Customs Management skilled responsible for handling import customs clearance activities, CHA coordination, freight forwarder management, and logistics operations to ensure smooth and compliant import movement for manufacturing operations.

The candidate should have strong knowledge of:

- Import customs clearance

- Customs documentation

- CHA & freight forwarder coordination

- Shipment tracking

- DGFT/ICEGATE compliance

- Duty management and logistics operations

Key Responsibilities

Import Customs Clearance Management

- Handle end-to-end import customs clearance activities for air and sea shipments.

- Coordinate with Customs House Agents (CHA) for timely Bill of Entry filing and cargo clearance.

- Verify shipping documents including:

- Commercial Invoice

- Packing List

- AWB/BL

- COO

- Insurance documents

- Duty exemption documents

- Ensure compliance with Customs regulations and company import procedures.

CHA & Forwarder Management

- Manage and coordinate with CHAs, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transporters.

- Monitor shipment status from origin to final delivery.

- Ensure timely customs clearance to avoid demurrage, detention, and line stoppages.

- Evaluate CHA and forwarder performance on cost, clearance lead time, and service quality.

- Support freight negotiation and logistics cost optimization initiatives.

Customs Compliance & Documentation

- Ensure accurate HSN classification, duty calculation,



and import documentation.

- Coordinate with internal teams for MOOWR, EPCG, FTA, SVB, or other special scheme compliances.

- Maintain import records and support customs audit requirements.

- Handle coordination related to customs queries, assessments, and document submissions.

- Monitor compliance related to ICEGATE, DGFT, and customs notifications.

Shipment Planning & Coordination

- Coordinate with Purchase, Planning, Warehouse, and Production teams for shipment priorities.

- Track critical shipments and update stakeholders on delivery timelines.

- Arrange transportation and ensure smooth material movement to plant location.

- Support urgent shipment handling and escalation management.

Reporting & Cost Monitoring

- Prepare import MIS reports including:

- Shipment tracking

- Clearance lead time

- Freight cost

- Duty analysis

- Pending BOE status

- Monitor logistics cost and identify process improvement opportunities.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of import customs clearance procedures

- CHA and freight forwarder management

- Customs documentation handling

- Understanding of Customs Act, ICEGATE, and DGFT procedures

- Freight and logistics coordination

- ERP/SAP knowledge preferred

- Good communication and stakeholder management skills

- Strong follow-up and problem-solving capability

Preferred Qualifications

Qualification Requirement

Education Any Degree / B.Com / BBA / MBA / Logistics specialization

Experience 3 - 8 years

Industry EMS / Manufacturing / Electronics / Supply Chain

Preferred Exposure Air & Sea import operations
